The Golden Oaks Bookstore Preorders! · 4:58pm Jul 9th, 2019

Why should you preorder your GaPJaxie books before the Bronycon bookstore?

  1. I can ship the books to you if making your pilgrimage to Horse Mecca is difficult.
  2. I'll sign your books, and maybe write a threatening message.
  3. After years of my stories making you sad, now your sales figures can make me sad!
  4. Crushing writer's hopes prior to con makes them easier to fit in luggage.
  5. Preordered copies had typos corrected before printing, instead of with a red pen.

And more!

I'll be bringing four books to Bronycon: 81 Days, Roll Credits, The Third Wheel, and Thousand Yard Stare. I won't be bringing very many copies though, so if you want to guarantee getting one, you can find the pre-ordering link right here!

I am so psyched for the bookstore. Get hype!

Star Power isn't Twilight Sparkle, but she does play her on TV. This book is the collected stories of the Actingverse, a series focusing on six pony child actors in a world where Friendship is Magic is a live-action TV show. This tense-yet-sweet character drama shows the stress they go through as they play the characters we know and love, and in the end, maybe they learn some friendship lessons themselves.

Now with new chapter art!

When Twilight and Celestia have an argument about the existence of leap years, there’s only one possible way to settle their differences: a race around the world! Ride along with Spike and Twilight for their epic journey in this hilarious, touching, and often tragic adventure.

"This is really some of the best Spike writing you can ask for." -- Present Perfect

"Might be the best story on FiMFic this year." -- Horizon

"This novel is a gem. I'm glad I found it." -- GaraTheAuthor

"This is a unique masterpiece. I don't know where to start. So many parts of this story were so beautiful and clever and yet managed to fit the characters and settings so well." -- Psychomotorboat

The essential reader for all things GaPJaxie, because every reader deserves to be sad. This book contains all of Jaxie's best funny and/or tragic stories, including:
Regarding the Need for Sex Education
The Arbitrage of Moments
Twilight Sparkle vs Social Inequality
Intern
Modern Medicine
Familiar
The City Upon A Hill
If Only, If Only
The Third Wheel
Courtesans

Tissues and/or antidepressants sold separately.

Five tales of an alternate Equestria, where Twilight has a little sister, changelings rule the North, and alicorns truly are eternal. This heart-wrenching character drama will make you smile, laugh, cry, and snarl. Collection includes, The Third Wheel, Courtesans, A Foreign Education, The Virgin Princess, and The Last Changeling.

Book also includes author's notes on every chapter, outlining what went into planning it and how the story changed as it was written. And maybe I'll draw a horse in the margin or something.

I made sure to put my request in the survey. One way or another, I'm going home from Bronycon with a copy of Roll Credits clutched in my sweaty hands.

Jaxie,

I clicked on the link but it doesn't seem to work right. Could you let me know how to get it to work? Thanks!

I don't think they have an overhead compartment large enough for your confidence.

I am a unicorn and a stallion so that's double privilege.

Thank you for preselling. This was a great way to make sure that I was able to get all 4 books without having to make the vendor hall at Bronycon my first stop. (Still probably will unless other authors offer something similar) Oh, the free shipping was an awesome touch too! :pinkiehappy:

Yes. It takes me to the main site, but it isn't your account. It wants me to open an account.

I’ll certainly consider it for the indiscriminate stabbing threatening message.

Just to check to assuage my brain, is this also for preorders for people who aren't going to BronyCon?

(I don't wanna pre-order a volume just for you to lug it there...and there's no one to get it. :facehoof:)

5086547

Mmm. It seems to be working for everyone else, so I'm not sure what it could be. Try opening it in an incognito window?

5086603

Sure! You can request it mailed to you after BC. Shipping is free. ^_^

5086641
Not sure what that is. I'll try it again from the link from my computer when I get in from work.

I'm gonna take my chances and just grab the books directly at the con. I like to live dangerously.

5086641
It's working on my laptop. Sorry for troubling you with that. One more question, though. When do I need to order by so that you can bring a copy to the con?

5086715

The week before or so. But earlier is better in case I need to order more copies. Plus it gives me time to think of a cleverer threatening message!

5086718
Thanks!
I imagine mine will be something about asking too many questions or how computer illiterate I am.:rainbowlaugh:

"now your sales figures can make me sad!"
You don't want to sell them? :)

"Crushing writer's hopes prior to con makes them easier to fit in luggage."
What, and either you hope we won't buy a lot or you think we want to give you a hard time packing? :D

(Though I am genuinely unsure what you were doing with those two lines. Well, except, I did laugh, and they were pretty clearly meant to be humorous, so, ah. Yeah, guess they worked after all, whatever the details. :D)

"truly are eternal"
A small thing, but I find that you mentioned that a nice detail. Oh, though maybe I should go into spoilers, just in case...
But indeed, the more I think about it, the more sense it makes; at first, after reading this, I was only thinking of the positive aspect, as it were, of being eternal, outside of time, rather than sempiternal by virtue of being of a fixed nature, to try and quickly describe it. Then while composing this I realized that a negative aspect also applies, in that they are not sempiternal by virtue of being destructible.
Alicorns may be created and destroyed, but while extant are touched by time less and differently than others are. :)

Anyway, weeeeeell, I was planning to not buy any of the books before the con, but with the bonuses being offered here, and especially with the spectre of the bookstore running out being raised, I think my course is fairly clear. :)

[tries to order]

...Er. Wait, though, do I select "Ship Order" or "Pick up in store"? Because I though it'd be the latter, but the store address they give is in California, and so not at Bronycon unless I have been drastically misinformed.
So, er, help, please? How does this work? :)
(Oh, nice "Small Horse Books", though. :))

5086718
Ah, good, should still be plenty of time to get this sorted out, then. :)

Hmmm ok, looks interesting... I might look into getting a physical copy of stories by one of my favourite autho- and fuck I just bought all of it.

5086811

Who's awesome? You're awesome!

5086735

You don't want to sell them? :)

I'm a writer! Anything short of the NYT best seller list will make me sad. It's the curse that comes when you get your first upvote.

(Though I am genuinely unsure what you were doing with those two lines. Well, except, I did laugh, and they were pretty clearly meant to be humorous, so, ah. Yeah, guess they worked after all, whatever the details. :D)

YOU HAVE DETECTED THE JOKE.

"Pick Up in Store" -> Pick up at Bronycon
"Delivery" -> Shipped After Bronycon

Ah, of course. :D

"YOU HAVE DETECTED THE JOKE."
HOORAY.
:D

""Pick Up in Store" -> Pick up at Bronycon

Ah, thanks! I'll just ignore the address it says there, then. :)
Right, not in a good position to order now, but I should be able to within the next twenty-four hours. :)

I wish Siren Song was included but this is a good selection. The list of authors and titles at the BronyCon Bookstore is looking stacked. I feel like I'm gonna need to bring an empty suitcase.

5087070

I wish it was too, but editing it would just have taken too long. I'm also super psyched about the other titles at the bookstore. Definitely going to go home with a few.

And order placed. :)

5087186

So many preorders!

I may actually need to order more books. 0_0

Can I select "pick up in store" to grab them from you at BC?

EDIT: Read thread. :derpytongue2:

5087369
Heh, sorry. :)

5087545
:D
Though, really, good luck moving Mount Bookbox across the continent. :)

What is the deadline for preordering? I want to pick up two or three books here (but sadly I would be one of the ones not going to Horse Mecca).
