The reason I write is because I want to read a story written for myself. One day, I want to read one of my own stories and say to myself "That is the best story I have ever read."

    Merry Christmas

So to start off, I wish a heartfelt and sincere Merry Christmas to everybody, or Happy Holidays for those who do not celebrate.

Of course, I know that the feeling of needing to be happy at this time is quite taxing. I see it a lot in my day job doing social work. To those, I do wish that at least your hardships be soothed for a short period of time.

Vren55's Last Hurrah: Alternia's Daughters One-Shot · 11:12pm Dec 21st, 2018

So, it's been a long time since I've actually published any new fanfiction. I've just been busy with life and am getting into the career tango. Finding work, and then working. This has all made me very aware that I'm going to be well... I might not have the time to write fanfiction. There's also the matter that I want to write an original story and get it published.

Yet, I never have been able to quite leave the Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen universe completely, I've been writing the side-stories for fun, and am still writing Samudra's journal. Yet, neither of them really are on Alternia or at least... addresses what happens to her and her sisters.

However, for the longest time, I've had these artworks on Alternia's daughters with Harlequin, a character in Equestria's Changeling Queen and the Abyssal Empress, which were done by my good friend Firimil (Nova Quill) who has done a lot of art for me, and fanart of the series.

Mirage (elder)

Kyria (younger)

The two together hugging.

Kyria and Mirage messing around

They're really cool aren't they? Anyway, I wanted to get her a present because she's having a special day soon. Hence, came this idea where I'd write a final one-shot/short story, set in the Princess Celestia: the Changeling Queen universe, after the events of Equestria's Changeling Queen And the Abyssal Empress, with Alternia's daughters. It will serve to bring the series full circle, as best as I can anyway in the time I have, and be an epilogue to these fanfics that I spent so much time on.

As to what they'll be doing... well...

Equestria's Changeling Princesses and the Traitorous Queen

Years after the events of the Kelpie crisis, Princess Alternia's daughters, Mirage and Kyria try to make their mother and their aunts the best present ever. A way to see into the past, and to be able to see their mother's mother, Chamelia.

They instead, they end up more than a thousand years in the past, with said grandmother, in a terrifying adventure that nobody from the future seems to have known about.

A adventure that should they fail, may put their very existence in jeopardy.

Prospective Goal for Publishing Spring 2019

Yours sincerely,

Lul, the Kelpie Crisis never really got a good conclusion. All it would take is for that gal to get hungry and the surface will get ravaged.

Oh, god those pics are so old and so bad!

I'm really looking forward to this one, can't wait to read the finished product.

well... don't that beat all O.o

Well this sounds like a very interesting story, also the art looks amazing that artist really does a good job.

One of these days I need to actually read the stories

More Alternia is always good. Even when the antagonists are driving me to frothing rage by how OP they've been made; i still enjoy reading about Princess Alternia, regardless.

Yeah... i never much cared for the Kelpie crisis and it's conclusion either... The Kelpies are breathtakingly overpowered; it took multiple changeling Queens, and about a dozen elite Changeling Chevaliers, just to take on two or three Kelpie soldiers. And even then, all they managed to do was drive the Kelpies off, after suffering multiple losses; including Raven getting killed off in an act of pointless cruelty. We're told that they have two weaknesses; but their need to feast on the flesh of sentient beings, never once comes up as an actual weakness. And their limited numbers is quite clearly the only thing that stopped this race of nigh indestructible T-1000s from straight up conquering the entire planet.

When you have no alternative left but to bring a rampaging outer god into the story, just to give the antagonists a credible mutual enemy to worry about; something has gone horrifically wrong.

And then there was the legal and diplomatic bullshit that Tethys gets away with; because apparently she can have it both ways, and still somehow not violate her oh so holy honor. Oh those one hundred troops she gave to Nightmare Moon a thousand years ago don't count as a treaty violation because the Kelpies are not in power at the time. but then she blatantly attacks Luna on Equestrian land, during a ceasefire, and only relents to not kill Luna because she's going to have Luna punished... for getting those one hundred troops killed. So now those troops retroactively count as Aquestrian citizens, but it's still not a thousand year old treaty violation? That part had me screaming 'bullshit!' right at my monitor, and only my love of Princess Alternia kept me from rage quitting, right then and there.

I adore Alternia and her crazy, messed up family.

But i despise Tethys and the Kelpies for how bullshit overpowered they both were, and how the story seemed to keep bending over backwards to hand everything to them; when they were already effortlessly curb stomping both Equestria and the Griffon Empire.

The short explanation to all that is that my co author zerv came up with Tethys and the kelpies and I agreed with him at the time... in hindsight a bit too easily.

I still think I could have pulled off a character like Tethys and the kelps (I was still actually writing the story, zerv had the ideas and plot help) but I wasn’t skilled enough then and didn’t anticipate how volatile the reaction to them would be. Co authorship also has a lot of... quirks. It improved the final product but also led to this ideological swerve. Basically it led to a weird split of lovecraft in pctcq. Which i see now is not want audiences wanted from a sequel

So for the sake of not enraging the audience (because jeez it got tiring real quickly with how ... hurtful some comments were, not saying that you are hurtful, some of them were from people who wanted to rile me up) Well I’m keeping the kelpies to a minimum of “okay this is what happened with a aquestrian-equestrian relations, let’s get on with the back to the future adventure”

Good luck with it then.

Glad you are. I hit a bit of a snag that needed rewriting, but it's chugging along. Unlike the other stories, I want to finish this one THEN publish it.

I wish you luck but, unfortunately, as much as I loved the first story, Abyssal Empress was just too different and all my willingness to continue reading had drained away by the end of chapter 10.
