It's a parody on the Bowsette meme. Long story as short as possible, one of the recent Mario games introduced a character who has a little crown that turns her into a Princess Peach clone (Peachette). Someone spun that into a little single-page comic about Mario and Bowser both getting brutally rejected by Peach, after which Bowser pulls out the crown, dons it, and turns into a weird--but not unattractive--hybird of Bowser and that Peachette clone: Bowsette. She and Mario then pal around to the consternation of many, Peach in particular (which was, in fact, the plan that Mario and Bowser cooked up).

Then the Internet happened.

Late edit: An artist who works on the MLP comics--Tony Kuusisto--did a spin-off of that aforementioned comic, producing three four five full pages that (SFW) show Mario and Bowsette turning that fake relationship into a real one, to Peach's everlasting horror and dismay, and Bowsette trying to maintain it.

Yes, I saw that. Made me roll my eyes. Too soon. The jokes still creating more fan art by the day. I’m partial to the Boo story(feelz) and the Bowser jr walking in on his dad “crossdressing”(hilarious). There was also apparently some art of Bowsette by the creator of One-punch Man, which I thought was hilarious.
