*sighs* You know you're a nerd when ...

You spend time thinking of the justification for a type of operating system name to be near constant with its actual name in the AU of an AU (it's AUs all the way down, the earth is flat and balanced atop them all, shut up and deal with it) and you manage to think of something that fits with the various relationship structures of the different ideologies in that AU, and make it sappy enough to

State of the Writer: No, My Last Blog Was Not My Site Leaving Blog - This One is My New Works Blog

Hi, welcome to the show. I don't have a creative name for this blog.

Anyway. Let's clear a few things up: a few folks were very confused on my last blog and read it as me leaving rather than me just closing the book on Respite verse. So, here we go.

I'm not gone. I'm quiet, but I'm still here. And I'm writing.

I'm writing quite a lot actually.

    And that's all, folks

It took me some time to come to this decision. I referenced it on another story, but ... well, it's official now.

Everything I had for Out of Love is now on site for your enjoyment (or not, you might not like where these chapters were heading things). And with that, I am closing the book on the Respite verse for good.

    Christ, fuck it

    Listen. Y'all.

    This fucking fandom, I swear.

Let's make it goddamn easy on everyone:

Glorifying ideologies that promote hate, intolerance, supremacy, etc etc etc? It's shit. What do I mean by glorifying?

Well, this is a delightful little surprise · 6:57pm Sep 10th, 2018

Not gonna lie, y'all, I figured that ChryLight fic was gonna be me and a couple friends snickering over the silliness of Chrysalis disguising herself as a book. Just a little something written in the spirit of Famous's contest since I couldn't compete.

Suddenly, a lot of attention went into that rather silly idea and I'm sitting here stroking my imaginary evil goatee of utmost evilness and pondering the fun I've had writing not-so-redeemed Chrysalis and eying up a couple things.

Like people asking for more godmother verse, ChrysArmorDance, or that fey ChryLight thing I've had sitting on a shelf.

In any case, enough of my waffling. This was a pleasant little surprise and I'm glad y'all had some fun. It was rather nice to just do something silly and see how I could make a character who was still a card-carrying villain react with such sympathy to ... well, let's be honest, anyone who has any ships for Batman ever.

When Thorax mentioned his parentage in Read Me Like a Book, I wondered if it was part of Dear Small Pony Book but in the further future of that 'verse. It's probably a standalone but it does make me chuckle at the possibilities of how many of those could secretly be part of the same setting.

I was definitely a huge fan of the Godmother story, and book!Chrissi was just excellent fun.

or that fey ChryLight thing I've had sitting on a shelf.

I see what you did there. :trixieshiftright:

It was quite good. Definitely the best I’ve read in the ‘Changeling disguises itself as a book to siphon Twilight’s love’ genre.

Local smug changeling gives passers bye hard drugs: wonders aloud why he sells out so fast.

Glad to hear you had fun with it and I hope you write more unapologetically unreformed ChryLight, it's a woefully underrepresented theme and you've just conclusively proved you have a real talent for writing it.

So you're saying... an appendix? :pinkiehappy:

fey chryslight?

This is assumptions as I haven't read it yet, and if I am right its Spoilers....

But it maybe a reference to A Fey Evening

Either that or its a reference to an unfinished story.

Either way, Carapace you do some of the best Chrysalis stories on the sight, even with how rare they are, so I will join the crowd saying, "Please write more. Especially more ChryLight!"

It was fun. So, what’s the next Respite story gonna be about?

4935077 Nah, not in this one. I rather like the notion of him being her son.

4935078 I'm glad you've enjoyed both so much! Thanks!

4935080 Who me? :scootangel:

4935117 I'm glad that I was able to entertain you so! :D

4935131 I ... I mean ... it's not that certain, right >.>;

4935168 I feel like this is the part I have Chrysalis do something like put someone's appendix on the table and say something like "I was going to eat that later, but, sure, if you had your heart set on it."

4935221 ~

4935302 Ref to an unfinished story. And oh wow, I think I've only written the two but that is high praise :0

4935390 You mean besides Out of Love? Not sure. Honestly, it'll probably be Malto, something with Esalen and Toola, or Paradise AU.

Now I’m imagining Chrysalis finding good reasons to do ‘evil’ things just to mess with people. She can talk up how she ripped out some pony’s appendix and cut someone’s throat and Twilight let her get away with it (emergency surgeries, appendectomy and tracheotomy), that kind of thing.

Actually I’m pretty sure there was a Batman plot where The Riddler got Batman to summon a demon that way.

I forgot godmother Chrysalis was a thing and I am suddenly getting all sorts of pleasant flashbacks to it.

I noticed a few readers, myself included, would like to see a little bit of Beguille’s story. For me, and maybe some others, seeing the story of how Beguille met Cloud Fluff and fell in love with her would be nice. Also, having a prequel story to the Respite stories would also be a nice little touch.

I'm pretty much in this fandom for Chryssie and I love Chrylight/Twisalis. Though I enjoyed reading Respite too.

Keep up the great work!
