In the 1980s, science fiction all-star writer Michael Crichton had lunch with his friend, Steven Spielberg, and at the filmmaker's coaxing, talked about his latest book idea he was working on. In 1993, a movie who's script was first engineered by Crichton and directed by Spielberg, based on Crichton's best selling book, became the highest grossing film of all time up to that point. Three, going on four sequels followed, along with a myriad of comic books, games, and tie-in material. Dinosaurs were brought back into the spotlight in ways never seen before and the sequels kept the fires going.
And in celebration of the latest sequel coming out, I'm doing a marathon of all the current Jurassic Park movies with addition airings of other dinosaur movies. Alongside the So-Bad-It's-Good Carnosaur trilogy, I'll also be showcasing several dinosaur movies users have submitted in on a previous endeavor. Might not be too late to submit in a movie, so give it a whirl!

There were jokes that given the ape-man in The Lost World kept targeting men, it was actually a very masculine looking ape-woman (or "ape-man woman" as someone put it). We nicknamed her Sam given it was a gender neutral name. The Brontosaurus was named Sammy and the Carnosaur Deinonychus was "Kermit".
