By the time you're 10K words in you're already hooked. Enjoy diving into it for a week or two, and then lament it's absence once you've finished.

My advice would be to read it as an original story rather then a fanfic. The mane 6 don't really play a part for the first few chapters, plus it's to;d from the point of view of 3 original characters.
