I've moved on from Fimfiction. New works on AO3!

In some cases, "old" can be a matter of months.
No kidding. I actually squirmed just thinking about it, and I've only been writing for three years.

ooh even better
put the old writing in the eyedropper

I believe that would go beyond cruel and become unusual at that point.
You know, I’m kind of really missing our annual bowl of noodles. Just putting that out there.

You know where I am.
Nooooooooo!!!!
You don't realize the total drek I wrote back then. Seriously, my college English professor should have been fired for passing me.
It could be worse. I don't think any of your stuff's gotten the MST3K treatment. Mine, on the other hand...
I want to go back and pull on younger me's ears until he stops writing in referential jokes sometimes.
Not that current me has gotten particularly far into anything since then *cough*

Just so we're clear you're not having a crisis about stuff you wrote just a few months ago at the start of the novel right
Heh. I read that as "tutoring" at first, and... it's still technically true. Nothing for learning like seeing how far you've come... or at least for scaring you away from any laziness that could cause you to slide back.
Oddly, though, my experience tends to be the opposite of that. Whenever I go through really old drafts or ideas, I find a bunch of gems that got thrown out with sweeping overhauls, or cool ideas that didn't quite get the right execution and were forgotten about. Of course, that also involves wading through things that didn't get published for a reason, but still...
Y'know, I honestly feel OK about just about everything I've posted to this site (though make no mistake, if I could travel back in time and teach my younger self what I've learned in the last seven years*, you would have a VERY different "Castle Midnight"...one that might actually be F$#@ING FINISHED BY NOW =_=). But lordy lord I would sooner set myself on fire and walk into open traffic than have to look at the stuff I posted to my first Fanfiction.net account.
...so outta curiosity, what exactly prompted your painful journey down memory lane? X3
*sidebar: SEVEN YEARS?!? WHAT THE F#@%?!?
I dunno, I love reading my old work. Not all of it equally, to be sure, but I wrote some funny shit five years ago. :V
Just so long as they don't play Beethoven's 9th while they do it.
You just... you just had to suggest that? Knowing how curious I am?
So of course I dug out a copy of my first fanfic, written eighteen years ago, and...
The horror!
I wrote ellipses with only two dots!
I misspelled "embarrassment"!
I thought triple exclamation marks were a good idea!
I'm so disgusted with my past self for making those three mistakes. Disgusted, I say.
I'm sick bastard then cause I reread my old stuff for fun
