So out of curiosity I found a certain book online and ordered it up. As a fan of the Jurassic Park series and role play games, it caught my attention as one of both, and the fact it was based off the second movie. Having been a 90s kid, it actually was TLW which is the most familiar to me in my early memories as it came out when I was a youngster. When I think Jurassic Park franchise, I think the second film's logo.
The game is fairly simple, and after a dry run with Faithy (spoiler warning, she dodged the carnivores and managed to parkour her way through the worker village), I see I can improve on it and make some adjustments. So I actually was wanting to know if anyone would like to join in on a run with me as the game master. The objective will be simple. You'll find your way onto Isla Sorna, Site B, and have to get off of it in time. Along the way you'll need to complete objectives who's success is based off simple character stats, picked up items, and dice roles. And because I'm that much of a nerd, I'll throw some curve balls in just so anyone who rewatches the movie thinks they know everything that's coming and tries to act smart might just get caught off guard.
This is just a preliminary idea so I may or may not do it, but seems fun enough. We can try it with one brave volunteer trying a solo run, or a small group trying to work together to survive the island. If anyone could advise some websites that be useful in coordinating it, that be helpful; otherwise it can be done probably on an easily found forum or DA group.
Here's how it works in an example scenario.
Gamemaster: You spy a bipedal dinosaur rapidly approaching from across the clearing. It has a orange hue and is roughly the same size as an ostrich. You have no time to check your field guide, so you must make a judgement call.
A. You can guess its a Gallimimus and jump aside, agility roll, roll 3 dice
B. You can guess its a Deinonychus
*If B do you
-1. Try to hide, stealth skill roll, roll 1 dice
-2. Attempt to shoot it with your tranquilizer rifle (3 darts left), action skill roll, roll 2 dice
Player 1 Status:
Stealth 4
Agility 5
Action 3
*Injured, Bleeding, minus 1 per total roll
Equipment:
-Tranquilizer rifle, can knock out 1 medium to small dinosaur and dizzy a large one, 3 darts left
-Road flares, useful for lighting, signaling, or blinding enemies, 2 left
-Med kit, removes 1 injury"I pick A"
Gamemaster: You guess it's a Gallimimus... and you're correct! You scores were rolls of 4, 3, and 6 for a combined score of 13, minus 1 for the bleeding, successfully dodging to the aside as the the relatively harmless plant eater runs past you... but then you find out why it was running as the tree part and reveal a fully grown-

Sadly gonna keep it simple and just be humans for now with the dinosaurs being NPCs, though the player can influence them like spurring a passing Triceratops to charge and break up a pack of Deinonychus raptors.

I guess. I mean, I mostly just put it out there because I'm always the nice guy in any RPG I play (not tabletop, this will be my first if I end up in the group). Seriously, I main Paladin in FFXIV, my favorite game series is Kingdom Hearts (known for its extremely kind hearted protagonist), I almost never accumulate Dark Side points in KOTOR, etc. Plus I don't have the stones to go full chaotic evil.

I mean, my character from Dark Souls III is a complicated guy: Originally, he came from Carthus, a long buried mausoleum that was destroyed for harboring darkness, then he joined the Abyss Watchers and became an unkindled after testing the linking, then he went to Irithyll, in order to become one of the Pontiff's right hand men, then he fled to Lothric in order to become a dragon-rider, and when the undead curse hit the transitory land, he went to the First Flame and killed the current incarnation of the Soul of Cinder, subsequently burning up... And going to the Cemetery of Ash. From there, the path to the End of Fire ending begins, he gains twin allies in the form of Yuria and Yoel of Londor, and nearly becomes the Lord of Hollows... Only to snuff the flame instead of merging with it. In an alternate timeline, he become Lord, then went back to the Cathedral of The Deep to discover Gael, the last Slave Knight, went to Ariandal, an expy of the Painted World of Ariamis, claimed the soul of Elfriede... Then went on to pursue Gael after waiting for five months, went through The Dreg Heap and exterminated the last two demons alive, went through The Ringed City, slayed Halflight and his lackey and finally went through to where Gwyn's last child remained, Filianore. Then the illusion collapsed and he fought Gael and Yorshka in the ashes of the world. After the death of Gael, he went back to Ariandel, and killed the Painter after she completed her world, subsequently committing seppuku and ending his long life.

I'd be interested assuming it takes place during a time I'd be available. Weekends would be best. I have a feeling that considering I have little knowledge of dinosaurs and haven't watched Lost World in awhile I would die quite quickly, but at least the story of how I die should be either humorous or memorable. Overall it seems like this would be fun and I'd enjoy taking part.

Just letting you all know if it is multiplayer especially, there will have to be some parameters on characters given the setting. Gotta keep some things consistent so while OCs will be optional (alongside canon characters), there will need to be things in mind. On this sort of run, having a bunch of guys armed to the teeth might actually be less useful than one might think.

Mostly occupations and back history. Some extreme personality quirks or types (like sociopaths) might be a problem too. Gotta plan this sort of thing out as picking the wrong type might screw you over or affect the game play in some manner.
