Review #49 - Rainbow Splash, Reverse Chronometry, Celestia's Teeth · 4:09pm Jan 26th, 2017

Ok, so I just realized that Friday/ tomorrow will be my 50th review blog! I should probably do something for that. Anyway, here are today's three:

Rainbow Splash by Estee
Reverse Chronometry by Word Worthy
Celestia's Teeth by Abalidoth

Rainbow Splash by Estee
(b]Comedy, Slice of Life)
Rainbow just discovered water balloons. Discovering why ponies don't use them is going to take slightly longer.

Review
Rainbow Dash goes looking through a magazine for pranks to pull and discovers water balloons. She then orders a great many of them and totally fails at filling them up. Eventually, she does, but when she attempts to use them she also fails horribly.

The pacing is alright for this one, but it can get to feel a bit long. It does, however, have few errors, and those it does have are the stupid hit-the-wrong-button- kind, (you know what I mean, right?). It also seems fairly planned out, which in some ways takes away from the comedy. The tags work well, though.

Score: 7.5/10 Recommendation: Intermediate/ Worth Reading.

Personal Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, this one is good, but only if you have the time and energy to read 6k words for that small of a plot.

Reverse Chronometry by Word Worthy
(Comedy, Random, Romance, Slice of Life)
Celestia decided to cave in to her younger sister's curiosity for Star Swirl's old magical technology. Now, she's temporarily stuck with Luna and Discord in energized space-time bubbles above Canterlot, forced to watch the most bizarre (and to a select few apparently, the most romantic) film ever made: The history of Equestria, in reverse.

Review
Celestia, Luna, and Discord get trapped in bubbles above Canterlot and are forced to watch the history of Equestria... in reverse. I refuse to spoil what happens during that time.

Pacing on this one is great, and I don't have many complaints. It has few errors, and again, the ones it has are the "stupid I hit the wrong button" kind. It also seems extremely planned out, but also with quite a bit of comedy. And the tags work well too.

Score: 9/10 Recommendation: Recommended.

Personal Thoughts: It's always nice to read a well-written history of Equestria story.

Celestia's Teeth by Abalidoth
(Comedy, Slice of Life)
Celestia makes sure to surround herself with the most competent staff in all of Equestria, but when they go too far in her service, she takes things into her own hooves.

Review
Celestia's staff hires more ponies to do stuff so as to create more jobs. One of the said jobs is a personal tooth-brusher for Celestia. Celestia decides to passive-aggressively teach said staff not to do such things, by making her breath as bad as possible.

Pacing on this is great, and cannot be much better. It has surprisingly few errors, which is really nice. And it seems fairly planned out, but with quite a bit of random comedy mixed in. The tags work very well.

Score: 9/10 Recommendation: Recommended for reading, Highly Recommended if you want a chuckle.

Personal Thoughts: This is great, and my little description up there doesn't do it justice.

Whoa, thanks so much for the review!

Never thought anybody would look through my ancient stuff and actually write a review of any kind about it.

Yeah, lol. Though I do not really care about the age, I noticed just how ancient it was about halfway through this.

Celestia's Teeth is one of those classics that just about everyone seems to like. And as you say, comedy that's actually funny, which isn't always the case!

From what I have read on this site, these are the most obvious / well-known types of comedy.
-Someone does something silly
-Someone does something stupid
-It's so bad it's good
-Someone does something crazy
-and the rare breed of actually funny.
