    Revised Harmony Spirits

I wanted a full set of these with proper art, so with permissions from mauroz, here they are. A couple effects have been tweaked to be consistent with modern vernacular in the card game and for my own better understanding of card design and balancing, and I also added a new "Tier 1.5" form for Twilight so she can have her own Fusion outside the ace monster, and finally added Sunset as a

28 Pranks Later S6E15 Review · 4:00pm Aug 13th, 2016

Remember Season 1 when Pinkie and Rainbow bond over their love of pranks? Well 5 seasons later, so did our new writer.

Rainbow Dash is on a pranking spree across Ponyville and no one appreciates it. The ponies go to Pinkie to recruit her to help her stop it, but Rainbow is planning her biggest prank yet, when she swaps cookies the CMC are selling for cookies that explode in rainbow colors, which will make everypony who eats one have a rainbow-plastered mouth. However, Pinkie orchestrates a grand counter-prank where all the affected ponies make like cookie-obsessed zombies, and Rainbow is scared as hell.

A very predictable and dull episode. There were some funny individual bits, like Spike and Celestia, and Spike prodding Twilight to buy more cookies. But overall the episode was kinda slow, very formulaic, and had a forced moral. Felt more at home in Season 2, especially with Rainbow Dash's characterization. I mean, didn't she make the point that she doesn't prank Fluttershy? Guess she got over that.

Yeah, this one feels like its time had already passed. Still, Pinkie's zombie voice almost made up for it. Seriously, that was quite nicely horrifying.

yeah honestly Dash was being a dick in this episode...to everypony elses credit they tried to talk her down first and Rainbow was just like fuck you and did what she wanted anyway. Personally the message is nice...but the way they did it through rainbow is kinda bland...plus just a small nitpick...where...the fuck...IS STARLIGHT?? Like seriously where in the ever blue fuck is she?! xD

(Sarcastic) Rainbow forgetting to not prank Fluttershy? Did you really expect the newer writers to remember something as little as that?

(Switch to normal tone) Then again, I suppose Flutters has gained a bit more confidence then so I suppose she could handle little pranks...

This episode sucked.

If you can look past the blue elephant in the room, this episode is decent. It's just not easy to ignore said elephant.

4147553 Even if they couldn't think of how she might feel about pranks, they could've worked her into the zombie mob scene in a cameo. I don't think that would've been too difficult to do.

4147593 dont get me wrong i liked the episode i just thought Dash was a bit too much of a dick in this one...but it totally justifies the towns reaction

4147553 You and I have been wondering the same thing. If Starlight is Twilight's student, shouldn't she be showing up more often?:applejackconfused:

4147652 i know for a fact shes gonna have an episode soon but damn you'd think they'd at least show her getting pranked by Rainbow to show that shes an actual character you know? I mean last time we saw her she didn't really do much

Andrea deserves a medal for this performance.

"Felt more at home in Season 2, especially with Rainbow Dash's characterization. I mean, didn't she make the point that she doesn't prank Fluttershy?"

No, actually. In Griffon the Brush Off, Rainbow was all giddy to prank Fluttershy until Pinkie talked her out of it, making the point that a prank should be tailored to its victim so that victim and prankster can both enjoy it. Sound familiar? Here, the Mane Six (possibly remembering that episode, The Mysterious Mare Do Well, or both), deputize Pinkie to talk Rainbow out of prank-escalation, only this time she fails. Overall, Season Six does have the problem of reverting characters to their Season One or Season Two personas, but the continuity is slightly stronger with 28 Pranks Later than this review implies.

The real weakness of the episode was its inability to get beyond its fairly shallow concept. Rainbow's prank montage was very obvious padding (which is not to say that all montages are padding, but this one, with each vignette being basically the same, was), and one resorts to padding when one hasn't got enough actual ideas to fill the running time.
