Nice Mind You Have There · 9:15pm Jun 16th, 2016

I've suffered a typo in the real world.

Something is wrong in my brain. Oops. What's wrong? Good question! I've lost and seem to be increasingly losing coordination, which includes my typing speed. How can I keep up my horse words when I can't type comfortably? This also affects walking and generally being a functional human and/or pony.

I had an MRI that confirmed that my brain has injuries. Why, how, and what can be done? All great questions that have no answers. I am now seeing a neurologist to get some answers, but none are coming of yet. No lifestyle changes have been put forward, so it's a lot of sit down and wait.

Oh yeah, and we'll want a lot more of those MRIs. You can afford that, right?

Meh, onwards! Maybe someday I will be able to run at full speed without toppling over. Today is not that day.

In the meanwhile, I fully intend to use my damaged brain to continue crafting horse words. Stories need writing, and I plan to do the writing, as well as Ponyfinder material that needs loving keystrokes to bring to life.

Oh dear. Here's hoping there's something reasonable that can be done to help.

Umm... well I hope you go find then.

Good luck!

Two main lots are blocks and leaks, though an upcoming suggestion in some cases is inflamation. Trouble is, when aspirin at low dose is used for inflmation, it also helps with blocks, but makes leaks far worse. :pinkiesad2:

Then theres antitoothpaste plaques which are really annoying, and excess immune system activity, like hay fever.

So many ways to mess up, so few ways known to detect and fix it.

Hope its something relatively minor. I havent got my keyboard scanning brain dump AI working yet. :twilightoops:

Hopefully it's nothing serious... it's suspect it possible to function without a brain in lands of enchantment, the scarecrow from Oz has done it for years. Granted, he's a magic burlap sack filled with tons of money and is the royal treasurer of the Winkies. But, you can always go to Puerto Rico. If the movies are any indication of reality at all the english speaking residents come out at night like vampires... and are supposedly the happiest people on earth according to Deepak Chopra.

bah, theres nothing wrong with you. theyre portals to the worlds of words and small magical equine-like creature.

I'm so sorry to hear this. :fluttercry: I know there's nothing I can do to help, but just in case I'm wrong, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll be earnestly wishing for your full and speedy recovery.

4027382 Phew, lots of comments. Thanks to you all! I'll keep updated as I learn more.

As someone who suffered some brain damage in my youth, I know the problems that comes with it though I've recovered and adjusted to my new lifestyle now. It's not ideal but at least I can live my life.

So here's hoping that it's something really minor or at least easy to live with.

Oh wow... That's pretty frightening, yes.

I really wish you the best.

Gracious.
I used to have seizures but that's relatively minor compared to unexpected loss of gross muscle control... especially if it hasn't occurred in the past. See if they offer pro-Bono or pay-assist options. Some facilities and companies are willing to waive such fees while training newer practitioners... and since they're supervised or actually just demonstrations for the new aides, it's no different from the normal ones except they cost a whole lot less. Oddly, while it's not terribly common, most docs don't even mention asking for some reason.
On a completely non-medical note, best wishes and understanding. For the most part, we're a bunch of free loaders who are mooching entertainment from you. Take care of you and we'll be more (selfishly) happy in the long run for it.

friend I really feel for you and please keep us all up to date.
I am sure we are all wishing you to get wheel.

4027576 Thank goodness, I do have insurance to keep most of the costs reasonable.

I do hope that whatever is going on is easy to fix and I do hope that you get better soon as well Silver the world still needs your talent after all.

Well if you need to take time off from writing your stories we all will understand! Never be afraid to take any personal days!

I hope that they are able to get to the bottom of what is going on and figure out what can be done to stabilize your condition and help you as quickly as possible.

I really admire what you do and if you have to slow down to take care of yourself, please do.

Wishing you well,

-Daremo

4027477 That's good. Keep up the good work!

Good heavens, that's awful! I hope something can be done. Best wishes.

Just try and keep it together, if you need to talk for Equus sake reach out to us for a chat anytime, it always helps to talk. If you miss a day of writing, no-one will hold it against you. Please, please take it easy, Regards Steven.

Well, I hope it's something that's not advancing fast. I live myself with a few psycological limits but you actually need what you have.

Never give up! :fluttercry:

4028280 I don't plan to surrender easily, rawr. I'm just annoyed I can't blame at any one thing and go 'Ha, it's YOUR fault!'

4028473
If only health troubles could be faced and dealt with on the battlefield with the help of friends.

I'd stand with you for that.

4028499 This is clearly the fault of the typos.

4028473 I could blame my parents but it's closer to the egsistance of mankind, laws of nature [evolution that I so adore], DNA and probability.

you have my early condolences

That is... Not good. At least it isnt cancer. Hopefully.

Holy crap! We hope the Text can open better paths than the norm...

Oh dear. You have always seemed exceptionally nice and I love your writing I hope it's nothing too serious.

Well, uh, good luck!

As an offshoot topic, there's a book called "The Man Who Wasn't There" which is a fascinating read about the neurology behind the concept of a "self", complete with interesting case studies and research onto areas of the brains that affects the "self".

Maybe you'd like taking a peek at it.
