Huh, look at that… · 7:42am Mar 9th, 2016
Apparently I've been spinning pony-tales for a little over two years. Neat.
My first piece of MLP fan fiction was an entry for EFNW's pre-con writing contest, and so is my latest. I doubt I'll win anything, but the timing was right.
I hope I've become a better writer in these two years… I first came here with a unpublished novel in hand, and a lot of time to kill while I tried to publish it. Not much has changed in those two years, novel-wise, aside from making a few more editing passes
What has certainly changed is the thematic risks I'm willing to take with MLP. I attemped to write Lightning in such a way as to make it hard for future canon events (ie Lightning Dust showing up again on the show) to contradict the story. Since then I've been all about experimenting via one story to better write the next one, from silent protagonists, to character backstory, to romantic comedy (but mainly romance), to OC's… Someday I'll claim this was all just part of the master plan
Thank you, everyone I've interacted with over these past two years!
We love it. Are you going to be at EverfreeNW in person? We could meet up!

I wish I could go, but that's a bit of a drive for me... I will be at BABScon, however
Congrats on the poniversary! (And see you at BABSCon!)
