The final check is almost done—come the weekend, the last changes will be made to the manuscript, and I can send it to the printer for real.
Ordering process.
Starting tomorrow afternoon/evening, I will solicit orders in a separate post titled "The Life and Times Order Form," and I will open orders for a period of 72 hours. At the end of that period, it will be clear what the cost of printing will be and how much everyone who wants a copy will owe. I will set the final price, and then Comma-Kazie will send a FimFiction private message to each confirmed customer with payment instructions. Payment will be accomplished via PAYPAL ONLY. Please do not ask questions about whether other forms of payment might be acceptable. The answer will be no.
After a second period of roughly 48 hours for payment, I will cancel all orders which have not been paid for, and then I will order the books from the printer. From that point, it will be approximately three weeks before I receive the completed books and mail them to everyone. You will receive a confirmation PM that your book is in the mail.
This will take some time and I do apologize in advance for the wait; however, I cannot afford to order the books before I have been paid, and will not do so. If you have an issue with this process, please do not order any books.
The Process, tl;dr:
1. Obtain Firm Commitments and Set Final Prices - initial 72 hour sign-up period
2. Transmit Order Confirmations and Accept Payment - second 48 hour period
3. Order Books From Printer - approximately two weeks for production and delivery
4. Sign, Package, Seal, Address, and Mail Books - however long it takes USPS media mail to reach US purchasers, and USPS priority mail to reach international purchasers

I'm sure this info is around somewhere, but I cannot seem to find it offhand... what are the book dimensions, text size, and how many pages per book roughly?

If this had happened right after Christmas like I thought it would then I'd be screwed. As it stands, so long as I get a refund from Amazon on time for an "urban armor" case that doesn't work very well I should be fine.

Wrote a similar comment before, but I think I was too late and you didn't catch it so I'll write it here :) Are both books together going to cost $70, is each $70, and how much do you expect shipping to be for US or is that included? Do you want someone to run through as a pre reader/editor before the final prints or for the next run? It might be too late for this run, but I'd love to fix any grammatical errors and such in case you decide to print more :D No matter how many people go through a story you can always find more haha. If you would like me to take a look, I just wanted to make sure, is the copy on fimfiction the final copy or have more fixes been made since? Sorry to bug you, but I loved your story so much I just wanted to do whatever i could to help. I've edited one of my friend's books, Windfall by Tempe O'Kun, I'm the Kohaku in the acknowledgements section. I'm also helping another friend edit their zombie story which hopefully will sooner or later be an e-book. Hope to hear from you soon!

I've actually been picking through Life and Times with a fine-toothed comb over the last few months, so it's as ready as I can make it. In answer to your other question, both books will be shipping out together (hence the $70 estimate from earlier blog posts) to save on time and shipping.

The price is dependent on how many copies we're printing, since the per-unit price goes down as the number of orders goes up. Since this is a onetime thing rather than a continual print job like with commercial books, we can't take any new orders once the Order Form closes on Monday the 11th. Any- and everyone who wants a copy needs to sign up before then or forever hold their peace.
Shit, I get paid the 15th, so then I guess this would be the only run of copies for the time being?

For the time being, yes. We might do another print down the line, but there aren't plans for a second run right now. Other projects, and all that.
Darn, looks like I can't order this afterall. Too many other expenses this week. I'll just have to hope for that second run to happen at a better time, if it does later occur.
Damn am I glad I read my backlog from the weekend before going to bed, was at my uncle's place housesitting since thursday and had no net...
Aaaaand after The Flight of the Alicorn and both rounds of Past Sins, here is another print that I have missed. Literally, it's like the universe has something against me. At least I got Twilight's List... Time to make the feed so that it only shows blogs (and stories) from certain users and only stories for all the others, I guess...
