Progress Report 05 November 2015 (Surprise!) · 12:05am Nov 6th, 2015
Remember remember the fifth of November.
Hi all!
Well, I’m now behind on NaNoWriMo, but not too far. This is harder than writing pony, mainly because far less is planned out. I’m letting the story drift as it wants to for the most part.
Oh, and I’m posting a chapter now.
What’s that, you say? You don’t see anything new in Rites? You silly billy. That’s because I didn’t post anything in Rites. I posted it in Designing Intrigue! Finally, after more than two years, there’s a DI update! :D
The next chapter of Rites still has a ton of editing to do, which I shall be diving into soon, and as I find time for it in the midst of NaNoWriMo stuff.

As thrilling as it is to see an update message in my Cold Storage shelf, will there be a comparable interval for the next installment?
3523421 I've written out through chapter EIGHT of DI, actually, so no. Most of the chapters, though, are waiting for certain chapters of Rites to publish. But they won't take near as long as two freaking years. ;)
Designing Intrigue!
well how's that for timing. I finally got around to reading the first two chapters of DI yesterday. WOOHOO!
You know that you don't need to hurry and let your NaNoWriMo plans slide just on our behalf, right? We can wait a bit longer if it suits you.
You kniw, I had a thought.
If you ever get an urge to write another side story to Rites, I think a prequel detailing Celestia's actions towards preparing for Twilight's ascension would be wonderful.
That time period has a ton of potential for interesting lore, characterization, and interesting characters. It could include Celestia figuring out that Twilight is going to ascend, her telling Luna about Twilight, her telling Shining and Cadance about their sister's future, Shining creating the squad that protected Twilight from kidnappers/assassins, and the squad's adventures in safeguarding Twilight. Plus, once you get to the squads's operations, you could make it as long or short as you feel like.
I think it would be a spectacular idea if you ever want more variety than the main story and Designing Intrigue.
