S5E17: "Brotherhooves Social" (SPOILERS) · 4:02pm Oct 3rd, 2015
After last week's forgettable episode, it's time for the one we've all been waiting for:
Brotherhooves Social! An episode which will have a lot of Big Macintosh! Eeyup! 
Applejack and Apple Bloom are getting ready for the Sisterhooves Social, while Granny is hunting up an old ribbon and reminiscing. Big Macintosh remembers a time when Apple Bloom really looked up to him, and gets nostalgic...and then starts feeling down when Apple Bloom doesn't seem to want to pay any attention to him anymore.
Poor Mac.
Mac's facial expressions are so expressive.
AB's being a drama queen in this one.
...Big Mac just pulled a Rainbow Rocks reference?

Actually nobody's having it except that one old stallion at the judge's desk.
This episode is gonna be amazing OOCSST fuel. And nightmare fuel.

Big Mac had more dialogue in this one episode than he's had so far in the entire series. 
This may be my favorite Apple Family episode to date. And certainly one of the few truly good ones.
I'd easily say this episode is my favorite of Season 5 thus far!
It was so cute at the end.
You gotta give Big Mac credit for trying to be there for his little sis.

Forgettable? Made in Manehattan was a really good feel-good episode. I always tear up during play. Definately one of my favouites, this season and, in my opinion, better than Tle Lost Treasure of Griffinstone, which is odd, seeing that Pinkie and Rainbow are my favourite of the Mane 6.
I didn't like this episode much, because I found the middle section to be more than a bit irritating. Then again, I'm not a fan of Polsky's writing in general.
Well, not so much irritating as causing me to say "I hope this gag runs its course soon."
This was a really good episode. I honestly didn't know they were ALLOWED to have episodes starring stallions.
Oh, and that picture was terrifying.
Big Mac is the best brother ever.
I had to stop multiple times through the episode because I was laughing too hard to keep going! That was really something alright.
Am I the only one that hopes Cousin Orchard Blossom gets consulted on stuff in the future?

3440357 And I know how I feel about my sister. I hate being around her. I hate her anger attacks, when she doesn't get what she wants. I hate the fact that she constantly makes fun of me. I hate the fact that she never listens to me (especially when I tell her to stop something, like touching me (I don't like it when people touch me.))
But, I swear to god, I would kill every single person to make sure she is safe.

3440259 I noticed the same thing with Scootaloo.
3440047 I actually didn't notice anything offensive about that - just RD being competitive and letting the audience know that she knows it's Big Mac without outwardly calling him out on his shitty disguise. Or RD pointing out a potentially disqualifying factor that makes him different from everypony there.
I just saw it, and I cringed at bit at "Orchard Blossoms" introduction and everything up until the singing part was done. But after that I saw determination and especially the feels at the tree scene. I really did like this episode, and dang did the ending really hit hard.
On another note, the voice was incredible. Big Mac (and his voice actor) can really pull off the "pompous frou frou lady" speech patterns pretty well. I was almost shocked they didn't swap out voice actors when doing that
I was totally glad to see this episode, the emotional depth was far exceeding my expectations.
