By Suicide By Goddess.
After Along a River Flowing, Never Knowing, Always Going went completely tits up and still born, I seriously thought I had another dud on my hands.
Plus, I don't know if I am that good at writing in the first person. I tend to go for more omniscient narrative.
So I no longer have any idea what is going to happen with anything I write. I am feeling genuinely confused over the whole affair.
But I do want to say thank you for reading.
I'm still baffled with the ratings of my Diamond Tiara-centric fics, but I'm glad they are what they are.
What can I say? Your style carries over, no matter the perspective. Like a boss.
Everyone who writes a big shot always feels this way at first, whenever they write the next thing, they always think "And this is when everyone finds out I'm a fluke." Sometimes you executed an idea well, sometimes you don't.

Amen.
I'm baffled when my most recent story got so popular. All I wanted to do was apply all the lessons I've learned in writing over the past years.
You're still a better writer than me, so you shouldn't be surprised when people like your work.
Thank you for writing.
it's easy, your a better writer than you think you are and as long as you don't slip into the idea of "I'm so damn good I can't improve" you will continue to be a good writer.
If I had to guess, the key difference would be the presence of a canon character. Some people just won't pay attention to all-OC fiction, but once somepony they recognize gets involved, they'll give the story a chance.
That said, sometimes there's just no predicting the audience.
And for the record, I liked Along a River.

I'm not that good yet.
Honestly, first person stuff gives me fits because I worry about tense all the time.
2523673 Tatatata...we did not receive our dialy dose of The Chase today. ´Till there no more upvotes or featuring for you.
Or food. Or water. Or bathroom rights. And i´m tempted to reduce your oxygen supply too.

Back to work !!!!
Oh lookie! Suicide By Goddess is featured. I called it.
It took about three and a half hours, but it got featured.
A lot of why a story gets up there, especially if it's just a oneshot, is it's concept, not necessarily whether it is an epic deserving of the feature box, or whether it's fantastically written. The concept and the source is probably more important to it's immediate popularity.
I think one of the big reasons is the term "Suicide by Goddess" is an extremely interesting name, and it has both the sex and comedy tag (both interesting), and comes from an author who is probably at least fairly notorious for using concepts in interesting ways, and what's more interesting than sex?!
A lot of things, but try telling the internet that.
The term Along a River Flowing, Never Knowing, Always Going, by contrast, is a very dense and confusing name. The description doesn't offer a lot of convincing as to what it's going to mean either.
On the plus side, I think that using first-person for the subject matter of this piece was the right choice It's so entrenched in his personal perspective that divorcing it by making it third-person would... it would probably be the wrong decision.
It's different. That tends to interest people . The style and plot are a little off from what people expected. Not to mention the writing style itself is very verbose,[i don't get to use that word nearly often enough] With your tags i think most people expected a pornomedy,[ not sure if that IS a word]
