Bronycon wrapup post. · 9:52pm Aug 5th, 2014

Cuz like Obs said, peer pressure is a harsh mistress.

So I was a latecomer to even considering going to Bronycon, but as more and more blogs came out, and more and more people waxed rhapsodically about how much fun it was, my resolve began weakening. When Alexstrazsa said I could even be on a panel and go for free I was sunk.

I threw together a Maud Pie Cosplay that turned out way better than expected and Wedsday night I was off. I took the bus from cold Canadia with a bunch of other bronies and we proceeded to have more fun that may be considered safe at ludicrous hours of the night.

This culminated in flying through the US border as they took one look went "Oh god more Bronies, just wave em through." Fastest I've ever made it through. Other than questionable hot dogs at 2am, not much else occurred.

The con itself was fantastic, I'll freely admit I spent almost all my time in Quills and Sofas, which was made a reality again by the incredible AppleJinx (Who someone I never hugged so this must be remedied.) and even has the NLR overthrow the Sun table and banish Celestia to the Fun table with Pinkie Pie

I only made it to a couple panels but I loved the ones I made. The other notable events had to be the writer's dinner on Friday night. Poor Sunchaser looking like he was going to tear his hair out as his reservation of thirty-five slowly increased to sixty one. Thankfully the staff were exceptional professionals and were incredibly patient with us. And the tips we left probably didn't hurt either.

In terms of folks I managed to meet and hugs the list is huge and still probably has some folks missing. If I'm remembering properly though it consisted of Akumokagetsu, Present Perfect, Bad Horse, Jedimaster Ed, Pegasus Rescue Brigade, ABagofVicodin, KJokami, Silentmatten, Wanderer D, Alexstrazsa, Midnight Dancer, Pen Stroke, Pav Fiera, Burraku Pansa, Jmac, Couchcrusader, Aquaman, Admiral Biscuit, Obs, Capn Chryssalid, Thunderscourge, Lord Sunder, Jake the Army Guy, Sunchaser, AlexMagnet, Blue Paladin, Golden Vision, Skeeter the Lurker, Cyclone Dusk, I'm fairly certain there were more people but names start to run together after a while.

If I forgot you feel free to say something. Despite my best efforts I didn't get to hug everyone, but I tried n_n

On the plus side SleeplessBrony, Wanderer D, Myself and some others have begin fiendish plots. They'll potentially see the light of day after the current EQD contest wraps up and I'll try to keep folks posted.

Now I've got to stagger back and get to my usual job of catching up on EQD pre-reading and other authors who patiently await my editing assistance.

On the plus side I now have even more reason to wield my powerful motivational tool of giving big sad puppy eyes.
