Upright and Uptight- the reader driven story · 2:44am May 28th, 2014
So, you, the reader, will finally have a say.
The story is mostly a blank slate. I need ideas from you, the reader, on what to do with Malesco Vino, our protagonist.
Some rules.
Ideas are to be short and brief. Maybe one hundred words or less. Walls of text are ignored.
Ideas must be upvoted or downvoted. I will be paying attention to the green and red arrows. SO VOTE!
Mature chapters can be branched off later. I am open to those eventually.
Romance is certainly an option and the tag can be added.
Have fun, be polite, and REMEMBER TO VOTE OR THIS WILL FAIL.
I say he becomes friends with Rainbow Dash and moves in with her as I've never seen a fic where the human lives with a pegasi in the sky.

I say he be brought before Celestia, who does know about humans, but only because of how insanely old she is. Vino is the only current living human in Equestria. I also think something funky should be done regarding how Celestia knows humans (like, with some horrible reputation or something), but I have nothing special in mind for that.
Hmm, standard Pinkie Party, contact Celestia, adapt to Ponyville...
What could make this interesting. Oh, I know! Our human friend is slowly shifting into a pony iver the course of the next three weeks.
What random nonsense to contribute... Celestia willingly becomes a stallion and it affects our hero somehow!! *derp*. I got nothing.

Hmm. Either Celestia comes to Ponyville, or he goes to Canterlot to meet her. Preference is for Ponyville, as it's easier on all involved.

Kudzu you know I'm a huge sucker for PLSS so if you can add in some of the dark, psychological stuff that you are so well known for also have Princess Luna examine his dreams, and pry into his thoughts but not be able to because of the cross-species issues.

I like the idea of Luna having trouble with his dreams. Maybe she can visit his dreams but has no actual control there and gets stuck until he wakes up naturally?
I have some ideas!
Spike thinks he's a teenage dragon, so he freaks out and sends an emergency letter to the princess. Celestia sends Luna, who finds him in his dreams.
Meanwhile, he's trying to escape Twilight, who wanted to "run some experiments" on him.
His subconscious mind is layed open, and Luna sees all his fetishes and darkest desires because it's the first thing he tries to hide. So she gets him a job as a portsta--
I mean, she ignores what she sees because it's happened thousands of times before, and goes through his personal memories to find why he gave up and accepted being homeless. Possible reasons are because he always had bad bosses, or he always really wanted to be a chef but wanted his friends/family to like him, etc. the usual.
Then he goes back to ponyville since he made friends with ponies there, and Twilight starts doing experiments on him, whether he likes it or not.
Hopefully one of those are good.

You should portray Blue Blood as the good guy. That would be a change.
It isn't hard really. You could explain his interaction with Rarity as him expecting her to treat him like royalty since she only decided to date him because he was royalty. I'm honestly surprised less people see Rarity's actions as hypocritical.

Make him have an epiphany after looking at the ponies and comparing their happy faces and lives to his own, then lose it all after getting hit on the head. And afterwards he decides to ditch Ponyville and live in Manehattan, after which he becomes a hobo.

Not particularly complicated - you know how Luna can dream walk, and she can leave a dream or wake up the dreamer whenever she wants? Basically have it so she can get into his dream, but she can't get out (by waking him or herself up, or whatever other way she may normally use) until he wakes up on his own and his dream ends.
He's a werepony! He can transform into a pony! Roll 1d3 to determine what kind each shift. And if he bites ponies, they become werehumans. Fuzzy, fuzzy werehumans.
You could have Discord be his jiminy cricket during his stay in Equestria and try to influence his outlook and mindset to be a better, or worse, one.

Well, definitely include some cultural stuff from The Chase. If the three tribes can barely understand one another, I can only imagine how badly a human will confuse them.
Aside from that, maybe just have someone, either Malesco or a pony, comment on how many objects seem oddly optimized for hands. If it's Malesco, you can always have somepony explain how much manufacturing Equestria outsources to the minotaurs or something.
