Welcome to the Fimfiction.net editorial!
Today we have a selection of blogs done by our three editors: NickNack, Obselescence and Wanderer D... AND vote majority by our members!
There’s a vast amount of interesting blogs floating out there, and these are just a few we managed to find for this month. The ones we didn’t? Well, they all can be submitted again for the next editorial. No blog is too old or too new!
All blogs submitted are from members of our community here, so if you have an interesting Fimfiction.net blog or someone has asked: “How do I fav this blog?!” The Fimfiction Editorial is where you want to post a link to it!
The more blogs we see, the more to choose from, and your vote as a member will always be worth something, since you all get to choose at least 3 to 4 blogs that absolutely have to be here for the community to see.
Is there a blog you read that deserves more attention than it got? Well, here’s the place to suggest it!
You might have 10 followers, or you might have 3000, it doesn’t matter as long as your thoughts and insights are interesting to others and you've put them down in a blog! Join the Fimfiction.net Editorial and check out all the awesome blogs people write and cast your vote!
And now, for the blogs!
Editor’s Choices
Dublio muses on why we all joined the MLP:FIM fandom, what drew us together and what has kept us here.
CyborgSamurai’s blog about the reasons behind writing can hit close to home to a lot of people. From the lofty-minded to the more grounded writers, there is a lot there that can be related to.
Garnot writes his first of 4 essays on The Pillars of Literature, analyzing each of them and sharing his thoughts on what makes them work, what doesn’t and how they can be improved.
Ever thought about writing a scene with Rarity as a character talking about dressmaking and then you end up describing the whole thing in a way reminiscent of building a vacuum-cleaner rather than creating a dress? Well, this is for you.
Ckat Myla produced this video blog about dealing with, well, lack of love for your story! It’s a nice and encouraging vlog that helps writers get past that initial tough moment.
SilentBelle writes about how and why questions are so important for writing a good story, and their impact on world-building and consistency.
It’s often held as common wisdom in writing that you ought to show and not tell. While this is useful general advice for the beginning author, it isn’t the entire story. In this blog, Bad Horse talks at length about the difference between showing and telling, and how each can be employed in their own ways to make your writing as strong as possible.
Stanku writes a deep insight into what escapism is and how bronies relate FIM to this concept.
We all have a craving to having our stories recognized (well, those of us that write, anyway), whether it’s our primary objective or not is irrelevant. We write and post our stories and blogs online and hope that someone will read them, and that someone will like them for whatever reason. Piquo Pie has some sound advice for when we hit that wall of dislikes and how to deal with it.
Community Choices
Everyone has heard how people tend to think fan fiction is not a ‘worthy’ form of fan appreciation, going as far as saying that it’s not worth commissioning a story while it is worth to commission art and such. Here’s what Wanderer D has to say to that.
As the title suggests, this blog by Bronystories deals with how and if MLP: FIM passes the Bechdel Test. It has a lot of charts and explanations, and is overall a very interesting insight on how we perceive our beloved ponies.
John Perry suffers. A lot.
In these series of blogs, John takes on that most awful of highlights: The Featured Box. Whether the fics are good, bad, deserving or undeserving (deserving what is left to the reader’s imagination) John takes a look at all of them and gives us his opinion.
Special Announcement
Don't forget to check out the Charity Drive! There's quite a few things going on tonight, so go there, help and have some fun!
And that’s it for our second editorial! Hope you guys enjoyed it, and if you have more blogs to suggest, be sure to go to the Fimfiction Editorial Group and post them there!
This is a very nice lineup of blogs, though perhaps a few too many at once
Personally I think it would be better with fewer blogs in each post, and instead post more often if necessary... though I can understand it if people don't want this to clutter their feed.
That blog about character is relevant to my interests. Thank you for including it here.
I really like this format.

⸘What the the darn is an Interrobang‽
Seriously, ¿why am I the only pony who knows about the inverted Interrobang?
Those blogs by John are just gold.

Yeah, twelve posts is too many. I think maybe four or five would be better.
Some real gems here - thanks for sharing!
Sweet as, John got on!

Hmm...perhaps not quite that few. I would say 8 is a good balance.
Props to whoever drew that banner by the way. It's awesome.
