First, I apologize if there's any weird errors in this as I am writing this on my phone and I hate tiny touch screen keyboards.
Alright, so you guys know how awhile ago, I was asking you guys what sort of My Little Disney parodies I should do, and one that came up A LOT, was Mulan. At the time, I thought it'd be impossible, considering the dynamic of the pony world. However, thanks to season 4... The elements are gone. (oh, spoilers if you're that one guy that hasn't seen it yet).
With this, it does sort of throw things off it's hinges, and considering that the military seems to be male exclusive, it gets that Mulan sense of gender ignorance (the princesses being the obvious exceptions) now, I'm not saying that the mane six need the HoEs ro kick some ass, infact that'd be the whole point of the story. It would be about how she wants to prove that just cause she's a girl, doesn't mean she can't kick some dragon booty! (Garble and the dragons are the Huns) and of course, I can think of no pony better to be Mulan than Rainbow Dash. (before you say that this and that pony could also be Mulan, all I want to say is that we can't use twilight, Fluttershy is q pacifist, rarity will be in plenty of My little Disney stuff, same with Applejack, and Pinkie pie just doesn't fit. That, and I have some super neat ideas for her as well! :3
But I'm interested in what you guys have to.say on the matter. Also any possible ideas for characters?
And this of course is all just brainwork, nothing will be done for awhile, I just got hit with this idea during work.

Hey there! I absolutely love the idea. I would also like to pose a question. Do you plan on doing a Sleeping Beauty? I ask because I was inspired by Beauty and her Spike to do my own Disney Princess parody. I was going to do a parody of Sleeping Beauty. If this is an idea you were to do in the future, I would totally understand. If not, I would love to do this. I have everything planned out and just need to begin writing. Please answer back.
An answer to your question. I would love to see a parody of Mulan. It's an interesting story with a great story line. From looking at your previous Disney based story, I believe you would do justice.

I love Mulan. It's a beautiful classic. As for characters, it depends on who you like to pair with Rainbow Dash. If you love lesbian love, you can make Captain Li Shang your OTP mare pairing. Shining Armor, Big Macintosh, or Thunderlane comes to my mind.
Or they can be Yao, Ling, and Chien Po. A perfect trio if you ask me. Thinking ahead to Mulan II, the princesses can be Applejack, Twilight, and Rarity.

RD as Mulan huh? Just plain perfect. Knowing how you managed to work out a Sparity in BaHS, I cannot wait to see how this will turn out. If you're gonna do one of your OTP shippings in this, I'm guessing Shang will be Thunderlane?

1688023 Thanks! I have no idea how long it will take me to write it. I can safely say that I have characters picked out. I'm thinking Rarity as Aurora and Spike as Phillip. I'm a sucker for Sparitys.

Even though I didn't like your take on Beauty and the Beast ( hated the movie), I will love to read the Mulan one. Also make the bullies Hoops, and Dumpbells part of the army.

I wouldn't have put the dragons as the Huns, myself. probably the diamond dogs fit the role a bit better. Or minotaurs.
(Unless you have something way better than an avalanche to beat them in the end. Flight has a way of negating the ends of most Disney villain deaths, and it's no different here. "Oh, an avalanche? Sure am glad I have wings. And everyone in the army has super hard scales and has magical fire breath so even if we were buried because we're too slow, we'd survive, burn our way out and come for vengeance.")
I would definitely suggest Pinkie Pie as Mushu too. The characters are very similar in how they work in their respective shows. Not sure how the others would fit in unless you Rule 63 them. I look forward to your endeavor!
