It is almost 6 in the morning my time, and once again I'm lying in bed, writing a blog on my phone. In this case it's a question I need to get answered, because I just couldn't get it out of my head:
What would an interactive clopfic look like?
My story A Nightmare Before The Night was, although very low on resonance when compared to my newer work, a success. Additionally, I was told by my good friend Kaidan that maybe not working on a one-shot that takes just a few days, but instead crafting something big and different could actually be a good change.
This is just an idea and if it turns out to be too complex I'll drop it immediately. I merely want to hear your input on the subject.
"Select Your Fetish" was my first idea, where the title basically gives you the idea already. You have sex and can select your desired presentation of the events. I just don't know if that's a good idea. Another idea was a sort of date game, where only the correct path warrants you with ponisecks; but I've played enough hentai games myself to know that that's boring as fuck. I came for the sex, not some boring "Senpai, do you love me?" crap!
So yeah, your words, please.
PS: Collab with Aragon is almost done. Just needs a final scene and a few comments being resolved. I'm afraid you won't see it in this year, though...
I like the idea where you can pick your fetish. But the way I see it, that presents you with a pretty big problem. You'd have to have a lot of knowledge about a lot of different fetishes out there if this is to work. Or, you could simply pick three to five fetishes, but that's extremely limiting, and could diminish the impact of the story.
Interactive Clopfic? OH MAN the possibilites Jesus
There's a site (I could find if I weren't lazy) that is CYOA style, like such:
You walk into bar
-- Vinyl
-- Lyra
-- Shady figure in corner
They pick one then it'd give a simple choice like
-- to her place
-- to your place
Then
-- anal
--oral
So it's always moving you towards the 'reward' of Pony Sex, there's no "dead end" where you get nothing. Now, maybe going into Lyra's sex dungeon gives you a bad end, as she never lets you go... but it's all 'reward' in the sense it's basically just a bunch of endings. (To save time, you'd probably want to cleverly combine choices or stick to 2 choices per branch max.)
That's how I picture it, and it could be awesome.
Vinyl - her place - vaginal
Vinyl - her place - strap on
Vinyl - your place - bit and bridle
Vinyl - your place - spread eagle
Lyra ...
... Just like that, 2 choices/chapter, each leading to a different kinky fetish. You could constantly add updates, "Banned from EQD" style (can't think of another example.)
For instance, publish with only Vinyl as a choice, that's only 7 chapters (bar, her house, your house, the four scenes.)
Two weeks, post the Lyra set (6 chapters) with new fetishes and kinks.
Two weeks, suddenly Trixie was at the bar (unicorns are best sex pets). Or maybe, you sneak in a bonus option to Vinyl's chapter.
You can expand a CYOA story infinitely, and I would strongly suggest doing it this way, instead of trying to write 30+ chapters worth all at once. Let the readers come back with each update, eager to explore the choice system again.

If you do the "Pick your Fetish" thingy, you could try it like this.
Write 3-5 chapters where each of them has one of the most common fetishes. Then in the author's-notes you write a message to the readers that tells them to request more fetishes.
If it works, you'd get a list of fetishes quickly, and as time passed by, and you uploaded more chapters, more people would request fetishes.
So basically my plan goes down like this:
1. Write a few chapters.
2. Tell them to write down fetishes.
3. Make more chapters with fetishes.
4. ????
5. Profit.
OK, maybe not the last two, but you get the idea!

By the love of Christ, that sounds perfect! That way I won't have to burn myself out with a single story for weeks yet can still enjoy updating it!
I think that's how I'm going to do it. Maybe two sets with like 15-20 chapters for the initial release, then smaller updates.
