I'm Supposed to be Doing Productive Things · 3:40am Jun 27th, 2013

Instead of making myself a new avatar.

And reading bookplayer's awesome new project, "The Mailbox".

And making fan art for GhostOfHeraclitus.

And coming up with stupid story ideas:

"The citizens of Ponyville decide to put on a community theater presentation of 'The Princess Bride', starring Rainbow Dash as Westley and Fluttershy as Buttercup. Supporting players include Applejack as Inigo Montoya, Pinkie Pie as Fezzik, Twilight as Count Rugen, and Rarity as Prince Humperdink."

Okay, go back to your lives people. I'm done wasting your time.

For now.

I am a bad influence on this man. A very bad influence. Or he's a bad influence on me. Hard to tell sometimes.

:rainbowlaugh:

Oh and: WRITE IT WRITE IT WRITE IT WRITE IT WRITE IT

And include Flutterdash. And ApplePie. And Rarilight. EVERYONE MUST BE SHIPPED. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO EXCUSES. :pinkiecrazy:

In other news I drank all the caffeine. :pinkiehappy:

please please PLEASE make this a thing omg this needs to happen :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

1171034

I was going to respond but then I think ghost broke fimfic for a bit. :pinkiesick:

I really like the new avatar, did you vector it yourself?

1171048 Yup. The vector version is up on my deviantART page now.

(Also, I modified the diary to include one other thing I've been doing and forgot to mention... I'd intended to signal boost that, but... I was in a rush and dumb...)

1171047
I may have just spent some time with Bradel breaking down this story idea into something that could be written.

May have.

:pinkiehappy:

1171048
It's a risk, every time Bradel and me get on the same thread. Our combined awesome can easily overwhelm FimFiction's servers. :rainbowdetermined2:

The citizens of Ponyville decide to put on a community theater presentation

If you actually do this, I suggest mining this story for ideas on presentation. Actually, even if you don't use this idea, read that story.

1171070 Ooh, will do. I've had Cloud Wander on my radar as someone whose stuff I need to read for a while now. I've only gotten a chance to look at about half of one of those stories, but I'm interested for more.

And 1171066 is lying. I'm not really that awesome. Though I do think this could be a fun idea. And Ghost and I have been looking for some shipping story possibilities ever since agreeing to do Bookplayer's Mane Six Shipping Challenge.

1171066

I know I'm following bradel, but when he linked to your blog I realized I hadn't seen it yet. Apparently I am not following you. Except now I am. :raritywink:

I also might have started shipping Ghost and Bradel :fluttershyouch:. We'll see. :duck:

1171050

I really like it. I've done a bit of vectoring myself, and it looks quite good! Don't suppose you could throw the SVG up on there as well? I'd love to take a look at it. Oh, do you use Inkscape?

Ahem. And studying for a test. You know. That test. The one that you should be studying for instead of playing with ponies and shipping.
-- Miss Harshwhinny

1171090 The .svg's for all three vectors (Bradel, the book cutie mark, and Dotted Line) are available off my deviantART gallery. You just have to look for the "Download File" link on the right side of the page. I'm hoping I can toss in an application for #MLP-VectorClub after a bit more work, so I definitely want the vectors online.

And yes, I use Inkscape. For vectors, anyway. For compositing full images, I toss things back into Photoshop, with which I have a lot more familiarity.

1171097 Well, actually I'm supposed to be doing a test. Because it's a take-home. But I have 43 hours left before it's due...?

(All the other tests went quite well, I think!)

...unless this is a veiled reference to me needing to go save the Crystal Empire? But I don't think I have one of those tests coming up.

Do I?

Yeah, you probably ought to get on that. Cloud Wander is certainly one of the top five horse words authors out there. Possibly top two. No one is better at happy and adorable, and that's kind of important in pony stories. You're gonna want to start here, here, and here.

1171034 is right. This is a thing that must be written. Priority 1.
Do it.

DOOOO EEEEET. :pinkiecrazy:

1171090
NO. GhostHorse OTP! And BradelWriter, obviously.
. . .
Oh sweet Jesus, what has this site done to me? :twilightoops:

1171090 1171224
I have people fighting over whether to ship me with GhostOfHeraclitus or Skywriter?

Umm. I feel like I'm in some sort of recursive black-hole-of-meta.

:unsuresweetie:

1171252

I don't think it becomes meta until the person being shipped remarks on the ship :raritywink:

Now I have to decide which avatar of yours I like better. Tough call! The new one is more polished and closer to show style, but the old one had a sort of slacker charm to it. I guess the deciding point is in regard to which one fits your personality better, except that I just met you and I know very little about you. So... never mind?

1171289 ...okay, just for completeness sake, if there are people who are actually interested (and it sounds like there are), I'll post the old one in my deviantART scrapbook in a little while.

(I think the other person who asked about it must have been over in Ghost's blog)

Well, I tried to put it in my scrapbook, but apparently I suck. It's just sitting in the gallery browser, but not the featured bit.

1171316 VICTORY. I knew I wasn't the only one that liked your old avatar. (not that the new one isn't better, but haven't I mentioned how I don't like it when old versions of things go away? :duck:)

1171344 Well, it didn't go away for me. :twilightblush:

I really didn't think anyone would care all that much. Though it's a very pleasant surprise to find out that they do. I think there's a decent chance I'll go back and redo that vector, maybe even in the nearish future, now that I've figured out what I'm about a little better. But no worries—the old one will stay put even then.

1171255
Which, as you may note, just happened. :raritywink:

1171252
Yo dawg, I heard you like meta. //dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Vinyl_Scratch_lolface.png

1171443

I was saying it didn't become meta until that very point, was all :fluttershyouch:

1171224
Personally, I think it would be awesomely hilarious to have wildly inaccurate shipping fantasy stories done about one's author persona.

1171470
Oh my. How deep would THAT rabbit hole go?

1171252
Why, hello there, Tall, uhm, Green?, and Handsome.

...I am horrible. :facehoof:.

1171316
Oh there are people who are interested. As much as I like the new (angry) Bradel I must admit there's a sort of insouciant I Can't Hear You Over The Sound of How Awesome I Am quality to the old one.

1171117
:pinkiegasp: I read Tonight I Shall Be Laughter, like, back in the Pleistocene before I had an account, but couldn't find it later. And there it is again! Joy! Happiness! Small fruit pies! :pinkiehappy:

1171476
My dear, there is little value to be found in a shallow rabbit-hole.

I'm not sure how Pinkie works as Fezzik, but aside from that, ALL MY YES

And Derpy Hooves as Miracle Max? :derpytongue2:

1171942
Discord as Miracle Max.

Also, Discord as Miracle Max's wife.

1171963
And Discord as Vizzini. Never bet against a draconequus when death is on the line.

I've got a busy day (maybe a busy few days) ahead of me, so I may not be doing a whole lot on Fimfiction until next week. Though I'll probably drop by to check out comments, etc, still. But I wanted to mention...

If any of you are still checking out the comments here, I want to point you at 1171963's new blog post, where he plays around with the Princess Bride idea some more. It's a lot of fun, so go check it out.

1172025
I disagree. Let me explain. No, wait, let me sum up.

1171470
Well, yes, but considering the authors involved it would be even more hilarious to have wildly inaccurate stories about the writing of Wildly Inaccurate Shipping Fantasies:

Skywriter stared at the page. He knew he had to write his WISF in order to save the world from Bradel's nefarious plan. Sweat beaded on his brow. He didn't even have a pen or paper.

"So," Bradel said sultrily, "I guess I win, huh."

"NOT SO FAST," Skywriter shouted, voice hard. He punched a tree, which exploded in a spurt of white sheets of looseleaf.

"Hold on," 1171477 said. "Is there room here for a threesome?" He flexed his mighty glutes. His muscles bulged. Ink squirted from his skin and spurted across the room. Words fell and landed on the page …

1172114
If one level of meta is great, two must be even better. That's my motto.

1172114
What does WISF mean?

1172157
Oops, forgot to capitalize the phrase they were an acronym for. (*edits*)
