There is a logic to this. When I get up in the morning, everyone else is asleep. I wear socks to muffle my steps. Also, I go out before breakfast and feed my horses. My rubber boots are on the front porch and I just slip them on and off , without having to take off my other shoes. When I head to work, I put my boots on, because by then everyone is awake and I can’t go to work in my socks.

If I wake up in the middle of the night and there’s an emergency, then it’s just shoes…I’ll grab the socks if I have time, but I’d rather have something to protect my toes
