    Does anyone play Darktide?

Just curious, does anyone here play Darktide? My group kinda dissolved and it's not as fun when playing solo anymore.

    What started the drone-centric stories

Nothing interesting this time, just two pictures that sparked my idea about hive drones in general. We haven't reached the chill Chrysalis stage yet, but who knows how things will be by book 12 or something. Anyway, the cover I made for They're Everywhere is based on pic 2, but no matter how I tried making pixelart with the right kind of feel for books 2 and 3, it kinda sucked so I stuck to

Good luck, everyone, going into 2024

So, I've been sitting in front of the screen for the good part of fifteen minutes, figuring out what to say for the now usual end of the year recap, and I've got nothing. Much like any time I try to push On Holiday forward, the empty page just laughs at me.

    THEY'RE HO- I mean I'm home!

So, after two weeks in the hospital and almost a week of pain before that, I'm finally home. There's only one oozing hole left in my neck (over the normal amount), I'll be taking antibiotics for a while still, but unless everything suddenly explodes I'm back in business.

Hello! I usually asked, after finishing a story, whether you prefer the format of short chapters with higher update frequency (weekly or shorter) or long chunks (2 weeks to month). The answer mostly was "both are okay" but in the end that didn't help me figure out what I wanted to know, so this time I'd like to know something different:

1) How did you stumble upon my stories?
2) Did you move onto a different story of mine once the one that brought you here ended?

I know that for a couple of the top commenters because even I now occasionally remember a name, but I'd like more replies because I want to see if a theory I have is correct.

1) Was searching for inspiration to write, and here you are, with an ongoing fic about changelings. One thing led to another...
2) I would like to. Not much reading doing lately, got busy

1. Saw They're Everywhere in the box one night and started reading it.
2. I went from They're Everywhere to your other changeling fics and then from there to the rest of your fics. I've read all of them but the incomplete ones.

I found your fics since changelings always interest me; the subterfuge, the mystery, and the drama of prey-predator relationships. This also has that feeling of two nations at war but zoomed in onto the civillains of both species and how they accept or interact with one another.

Hard To Find The Right Words was the first one from you that really resonated really well. Followed by An Exercise In Management years later while looking for my changeling fix. Hell, I didn't know these you made the first one until I looked through your page after reading a few of your other stories.

I will be honest and say, I stopped looking at your other "Nameless Narrator"-verse stories after the mental institute scene. I can see they are made with love, but it isn't my cup of tea. I find your first couples of stories too fast paced and they didn't really have time to absorb everything.

One moment he is a normal pony, suddenly he is a chimera, then without time to absorb anything, he is now protecting Luna during Nightmare Night with his newfound abilities. Oh, there's this war not too far off and something about gods and rebirth and such.

Not to forget the half bat wings and flame wings with amnesia.

I can't really get a chance to absorb all these information and internalise it before the next whammy appears. Which is mainly why I have stopped reading since I found out my confusion has outweighed my waning interest.

To answer your unanswered question, I think I now prefer the weekly one. The older I get, the less time I have on this planet and I would rather not go story hunting constantly to during the free time.

1. i was going through changeling fics and found "hard to find the right words" irrc
2. moved onto your other changeling fics. no offense, but i never really got into the imbalanced trilogy though. it's probably good, but i just cant get myself to read it yet because of the lack of silly little changelings because im a fucking idiot

i just finished writing this and realised your first 2 paragraphs is literally the exact same thing i said and think but better lmfao

seeing how most of the feedback so far shows that changeling fics are more popular, i wonder if this'll lead to another fic on changelings? :trixieshiftright:

1) "They're Everywhere" in the Feature Box
2) Recently finished reading "An Exercise In Management" (and what a ride it was), will start with Imbalanced or Halls of the Changeling King next.

All things being equal I personally like the more-frequent (but smaller) style slightly better (even though larger but less frequent updates are probably easier to write)

Years ago I was searching by tags (action, adventure, dark...) for large world count stories and thus found some that were nice to listen through while working on 2D/3D graphics (if story is spiriting me away I can work for days, months, years while listening through them - work stops being annoying or boring, awesome!). One of them was "Imbalanced: new age" and through it I discovered quite a lot of books to dive in :).

1-Found "They're EVERYWHERE!" in the feature box, thought it seemed amusing, so I read it. I can't remember if I read it all that same day, or if I stuck it in my Read Later to read more gradually, but whichever it was, once I was caught up, I followed it from there as it continued posting until it finished. Then, because I had "They're EVERYWHERE!" faved, I was notified of your blog post announcing "They're...ON HOLIDAY?" as it's de facto sequel, so I read that as well.

2-Unless you count me going on to read "They're...ON HOLIDAY?" then no, I admittedly have not, except for a couple select chapters at random so to familiarize myself on a point of lore that came up in the two I have read thus far...but I have considered it for at least the fics that are all of the same shared universe (which I think is just about all of them, right? I haven't actually checked). Really the only thing stopping me is the knowledge that doing so would mean getting through quite a backlog of content, and I already have scant enough time to stay caught up on the active fics I'm already following...so yes, I've been putting it off. Had I caught the fics closer to where it all began, that all probably would've been different, but so much for regrets.

(Plus, I admit I kinda enjoy reading what fics I have "cold" for the challenge of puzzling out the greater lore of the universe retroactively, and even though that clearly wasn't your intent, you're actually pretty good at presenting what fics I HAVE read in such a way that allows this to be possible...but I realize this probably undesired since that means the other fics are still being left unread by myself)

That all said, I probably would be interested in at least checking out any future fics you produce after this point, so you have that.

1) I saw 'They're Everywhere' in the feature box.
2) I went onto 'An Exercise in Management' afterwards, and I'm reading 'They're... ON HOLIDAY?' (Day 6, 2/8) and 'Halls of The Changeling King' (Ch. 5).

I found 'They're Everywhere' to be great, and better than its sequel, in part because I think that it's more... 'active', I guess you could say. It's a hybrid of 'Holiday' and 'Management', and I feel that the distinctive parts of both perfectly mesh together. The aspects of both provide a lot of variety in story's makeup, without allowing it to get too dark or too fluffy. One of the best stories I've every read.

1) In a Discord Group of mine one of your stories was recommended; Hard To Find The Right Words. As I enjoyed it, I Moved to a different story of you... until I finished them all somehow.
2) Well, yeah. I tend to have alot of daily commute, so I catch up fast. I need a daily fix of chapters :)

I was mostly just curious about how to spread the glorious word of High Score more effectively. Considering the Feature box is the most relevant way, it means that appearing there as often as possible is the key. That also requires short chapters anyway because a monthy chunk would stay there for like 5 minutes and drop.
Thanks, I thought that was the case, I just needed a confirmation.

1. Changelings
2. Changelings
404. Changelings

Seriously though, once the saga of stories I was reading came to a rather abrupt end, I kinda faded into obscurity myself. Idk... there weren't many stories I was interested in at the time an I took an involuntary break after I fell into depression.

So I can't really say I would have read the other stories or not.
But the changeling saga definitely had me interested enough to keep reading despite what was happening outside fimfiction.

I dont think that is what you are asking though, so if that was unhelpful I apologize...
