    Does anyone play Darktide?

Just curious, does anyone here play Darktide? My group kinda dissolved and it's not as fun when playing solo anymore.

    What started the drone-centric stories

Nothing interesting this time, just two pictures that sparked my idea about hive drones in general. We haven't reached the chill Chrysalis stage yet, but who knows how things will be by book 12 or something. Anyway, the cover I made for They're Everywhere is based on pic 2, but no matter how I tried making pixelart with the right kind of feel for books 2 and 3, it kinda sucked so I stuck to

Good luck, everyone, going into 2024

So, I've been sitting in front of the screen for the good part of fifteen minutes, figuring out what to say for the now usual end of the year recap, and I've got nothing. Much like any time I try to push On Holiday forward, the empty page just laughs at me.

    THEY'RE HO- I mean I'm home!

So, after two weeks in the hospital and almost a week of pain before that, I'm finally home. There's only one oozing hole left in my neck (over the normal amount), I'll be taking antibiotics for a while still, but unless everything suddenly explodes I'm back in business.

Thanks for reading. I hope you're still here because it's worth it and not just out of habit. Thanks for the comments too, they're the counterbalance to my own critical head. Here's hoping for everyone that 2024 sucks less than 2023. I'm tuning into a heavy metal special on the radio and drinking until I can't see.

Happy New Year!

I have no hopes for 2024, but yet there are still countries to run for safety and stability and airlines still working and there will be some free time to do good stuff for the world and time to time there should be enough breathing room even if things go postal; good enough for me I guess XD.

Now... now all those grim events are the problem of future me so time to relax and enjoy the holidays. Happy new year for survivors! )

2023... I've had a few worse years, but I've had plenty of better ones too.
Still, the only path is forward, and I try to find joy wherever I can (and - in a personal note - reading your stories is one of the things that brighten my day )

It is still about 5 hours till new year in my timezone, but anyhow...
Cheers, Nameless Narrator, may 2024 be a better year than 2023 (for all of us)

As the years go by, the world is depressingly going down a spiral of our own make. It's not enough to be just be happy.

I have been reading less on fimfiction, because of my job and many little side projects but I still foresee myself still interacting on this site until the next decade.

So... have a good new year, Narrator! I hope your every endeavour proves fruitful.

P.S. An open back headphones, like my cheap SHP9500, plus a game called Metal: Hellsinger got me to absolutely love the energetic metal genre! The soundstage is phenomenal and crisp unlike a bassy closed back headphones that muddies the intricate guitar sounds

P.P.S. Try Dissolution, Metal: Hellsinger, it's the best metal track I've ever came across!

If you're in one of the modern danger zones, all I can do is wish you good luck. Lack of military threat is the one thing I still have going for me, although, with how things are going, who knows for how long. I still heartily agree with the sentiment that it's important to celebrate what little we can for as long as we can. We're surviving one "once-in-a-century" event after the other, and the climate will be making it worse unless we pull a Futurama and neutralize global warning with nuclear winer.

I must have been playing way too much Rogue Trader recently, because the first thing that came to mind was Pasqal's quote: "An Explorator knows only one way - forward.". And you're right, the only way out is through, and I'm glad the drones are helping dig through the trouble.

If it was the doom of our own making, it would be better. Unfortunately, it's more that we're at the poinf of the story where we're not the main characters and have little to no power to stop the big events from happening, like a nomal accountant in an Avengers movie. The only way for things to get better is for them to get so much worse that it leaves us no choice to unite and form SHIELD or something similar.
PS: I've known about Hellsinger for a while, but I'm more a doom metal guy, and I suck at all shooters with the shocking exception being Darktide.

I just have Ruzzian citizenship and not enough money and skills to quickly get rid of it - it's like having Nazi Germany passport back in WW2. Still, I have enough monthly from my 2D/3D stuff in Unity & Unreal stores and this is enough to stay outside of Ruzzia at least - first it was Armenia (but at August 2022 tensions with bordering Azerbaijan starts rising to full scale war so I moved to nearby country of Georgia), now preparing to move into Uruguay or Argentine because Georgia itself surrounded by Ruzzia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and very close to Iran; what possibly can go wrong there... although I developed a healthy respect to Armenia and Georgia - nice countries and people, in other circumstances it's a quite good choice if you're on the tight budget, Georgian banking and legal services are super fast and friendly (surprisingly so in Georgia, where part of the country occupied by Ruzzia back in 2008)...

Also, my first indie game project - Buildmark - unfortunately failed and it can't bring additional income, but someday I will finish it and made it out of Steam Early Access... but learning Spanish and fussing with papers to receive some kind of life permit in Uruguay and somehow open business bank account there - all that will be my main task for next half of a year it seems XD. Also thanks to Epic Games there are interesting options to create art and earn money become available with their UEFN program (building locations and minigames and maybe more Second Life-like/Metaverse-like stuff for Fortnite) and it's still possible to push through registration process there even with my toxic citizenship and Georgian bank account...

Options are all there so it's up to me to act cautiously , rational and effective.
