Man Cannot Keep It Going Forever

There comes a time in a story's life when it's time to stop and say "The End", and I think for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone, I'm there.

Spoilers ahead, obviously, for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone. And before you think it: no, I'm not quitting or leaving, lol

    30,000 words later...

    I did it!

It's done. The Festival of Friendship Arc for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone is done! I'm so happy to have it finally complete. It was a massive undertaking in the best and worst sort of way. It took me a bit of work to shake the rust off, and Chapter 9c might get a touch-up, but for now, with Chapter 9d complete and feeling back to full form, I'm happy to say that it's done.

Yeah, I KNOW what I said!

Title says it all. Yes, I still don't know if I'm going to finish this beast. This arc gives me headaches for many reasons. But... well, when the inspiration strikes, sometimes you just gotta run with it.

Yeah, I know what I said.

The author's note in the chapter says it all, but hell with it.

Update and Cleaning Up my Userpage!

Hey Fimfic, long time no see. Hope you all are well!

Rarity pic, in keeping with tradition!

I'm doing quite good. I'm a full-time teacher these days, and that eats up a lot of my time. Between that, editing work, a healthy long-distance relationship, and D&D, I'm quite busy.

I don't know if I'll ever be writing much for FimFiction in the future, but I still visit this site daily and am always reading things. I still really enjoy the MLP fandom and I go to conventions quite often. It's still a big part of me and my life. I try to keep up with my favorite folks on here, and I'm always happy to see a new face or find a new writer that's writing something awesome.

If you've ever got a question or whatever, feel free to DM me about something. I'm happy to answer questions.

Let's briefly mention the elephant in the room: My unfinished human-in-equestria fic, Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone. I'm... not sure I'll ever finish it. It's, to put it bluntly, not up to my standards, and adding in this whole situation with the invasion of Canterlot and making it into a action story was... not a great choice for my writing. I enjoyed the story as a more simple slice-of-life and romance story, which is where my writing skills really live when it comes to MLP fanfics.

I'll likely leave it unfinished. As I said, I don't know if I'll be writing more fanfic in the future. I write plenty of original fiction, and every November for the last two years I've actually completed a trimmed-down NaNoWriMo (if you know, you know) along with my students. It's fun to play in my own worlds.

That said, my love for MLP hasn't really waned. It's still important to me. This website is still important to me. So, yeah, I'm around. I doubt I'll ever "retire". Who knows if I'll come up with some idea that I'll want to write in this world again! But for now, I'm content to read other folks' work and enjoy the fandom from the side of a reader.

Hope y'all are well, I'm really happy that people still read my work and enjoy it. I occasionally go back and read my own stuff, and I'm still very proud of most of it. I wonder, sometimes, what I could do with a fanfic with my improved writing skills. What would that look like? A question for another time.

well hi-dee-hi :)

I'm wondering have you ever thought of putting out a synopsis of what you were planning for your story "Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone"?

It's always nice to see someone come back after a long time. Good to have you.

Glad to hear you're kicking and even thriving. n_n

Glad you are doing well, and thank you for checking in. Knowing that even IF you were planning to leave for good you would pop in to say goodbye is absolutely appreciated.
