Commission Information · 5:00am Jun 7th, 2017

If you’re reading this blog, you’re curious about my commissions! Thank you for your interest. I keep my information updated on my user page, so you can PM me about commissions or check the commission status box on my user page. I respond promptly to all PM’s, so that’s typically the best way to reach me.

Basic Commission Information
I have three(3) slots per month, and I fill them on a first-come, first-serve basis. I occasionally will open additional slots or re-open slots after a commission is fulfilled.

Starting cost for all stories is $8 per 1000 words, up to 5000 words. After 5000 words, it changes to $10 per 1000 words. Stories over 10,000 words are open to negotiation, and will require detailed prompts and instructions. Stories running over 10,000 words also cost an additional one-time fee of $15 on top of the word count cost.

Long Stories or Multi-Chapter Stories
If you commission me for a story that is longer than 30,000 words, the cost per 1000 words goes up to $15, with a one-time fee of $30. Over 40,000 words and it goes up to $20 per 1000 words, with a one-time fee of $40. Over 50,000 and it goes to $25 per 1000 words, with a one-time fee of $50. Essentially, at that point you are paying me to write a novel. Stories over 60,000 words will be subject to negotiation and increased costs.

Long-form stories will be paid on a chapter-by-chapter basis, with increasing costs as noted above. You are not expected to pay for the full cost of the story in one sitting.

Multi-Chapter stories that you wish to pay for on a month-by-month basis will cost a flat $10 per 1000 words, up to 10,000 words per chapter, with fees that will be negotiated as necessary. This is potentially cheaper, but you are not guaranteed to get a slot every month, as I work on a first-come, first-serve basis. This rule applies to everyone. The only way to guarantee that a long-form story will get written is to negotiate with me for the cost ahead of time.

Going Over or Under Word Count
If, for some reason, I end up needing to go over the word amount we agreed upon for a chapter or story, the cost changes from $10 to $5 per 1000 words. Yes, it goes DOWN. I don't intend to do this, ever, and this both incentives me to be careful and not over write, but gives me wiggle room to get paid for potentially making a more complete chapter or story for you, and you get the benefit of a cheaper story. If a chapter or story runs over by less than 500 words, I won't charge you. (So a 5499 word chapter still only costs $60. A 5500-6000 word chapter costs $65.)

If a chapter runs UNDER the agreed upon amount by more than 500 words, I will credit $5 to your next chapter, or if it is the last chapter of a story (or the only chapter of a one-shot) I will give you back $10. So, if you've paid me for a 5000 word chapter and I write 4499 words, your next chapter is $5 cheaper, or you get $10 back if the chapter is the final one.

Refunds
If, within 24 hours of you paying me for a chapter or story, you reconsider our agreement, you will be refunded in full for the price of the chapter. After that time, there are no refunds for any reason.

Disclaimer
Finally, as with all things, there is a disclaimer. Satisfaction is not guaranteed. I will write the story you want to the best of my ability, but if things don't end up quite the way you want, there will be no refunds. The only offered refund after the 24-hour grace period will be a $10 refund on the final chapter of a story if it is 500 words less than the agreed - upon word amount. Completed, published chapters or stories are ineligible for refund.
