We tried. After every war an oak was felled and coal was brought up from the earth, a furnace was made and our weapons were cast into the crucible. How many times have we seen blades made into plows? Yet there was always another battle. Beasts came until it seemed nature itself was making war on Equestria. Equestria has many mythical beasts, we have slain nearly all of them when they were not distant myths but very present terrors.
Even yet war found us. Servants of gods and demons alike came in their zeal to be honored by dying for their masters. Honor them we did. We cast their honored corpses upon their brethren as we honored them. We hunted their masters. Alters of bone and wood and clay and stone all fell. I have met many a god; few survived the experience.
Some regard us as goddesses. We have no need for another title; to list them all would take the better part of a day. Why would we share a title with those we have slain so easily? Some begged for mercy, others attempted to fight. Any number of my guard could have killed them; a warrior that goes without challenge goes without skill. We do not desire to be counted a deity, why would we? We are the godkiller.

War.
War never changes.
War. War never changes. Or does it? The war has changed. Did it? The answer is "no". Unless it is "yes". No, of course! It is war. Yes! No! Yes?
Wow, this has taken a dark turn ever since Discord came back. I kind of like reading about history, but I'm not so sure that I like this dark turn.

Reliving the glory days, and they were truly glorious. No wonder Celestia can afford naivete; Luna kept anything from going wrong.
