Reunion - Chapter 19

Uncle was not happy with Celestia; she was not even allowed to add her power when the heavens were manipulated. By the next century we were only estranged aunts to the royal family. We stayed for centuries gaining and sharing wisdom. For the pegasi I made Polaris to be a fixture of navigation. For the earth ponies I taught the moon her phases so they could plan their plantings and harvests.

I tried to find new spells for the unicorns but my talent for creating magic was outshone by one unicorn. He came up with new spells faster than most unicorns could learn them and I was proud to call him teacher and friend.

Princess Platinum would have nopony in the royal line more skilled at magic than her. We were exiled for the sake of her insecurity. We returned when the parasprites came and the harvest failed, offering what aid we could. I only saw my teacher and friends in passing before the windigoes came. We could only save a small group of refugees from each tribe before the rest were frozen.

I hate remembering. There have been too many friends I have watched die and too many I could not be near in their final hour. I am immortal but I am not immune to death, I am its harshest victim.

it feels like it's been a while since i posted, mainly because yesterday's was at 3AM. so...yeah, have some more family history.

Interesting alternate version of the events leading up to the Pony Exodus. Did the estrangement in the Unicorn royal family and the weakness of young Platinum contribute to the cold war and the feelings that created the Eternal Winter?

Interesting, it was nice to see part of Luna's past being explored and how it connects to other famous characters of that era.
