Had I not seen it with my own eyes I would count the retelling as blasphemy. To see the Princess moving and striking through combat, as awkward as a foal just learning to walk. Yet once the raid is finished and the scouts begin following the survivor she seems to find herself again.
“I learned that from battling with my sister,” the Princess tells us. It is difficult to understand, the Princess takes every opportunity to demean Princess Celestia and yet if any of us attempt to echo her barbs we are met with the Princess’s ire. We seek to honor her with our mimicry but it seems some paths only the gods may tread.
I dare to ask the Princess why she fought so poorly. She intends to misinform Chrysalis, to have her think that a pampered weakling is the one fighting her. Even now after the wanton slaughter of changelings this past month the Princess seeks every advantage over Chrysalis.
May the Moon guide the scouts, if they find Chrysalis’s lair this could all be over in a week’s time.

Clearly it's a trick - no foe can stand long against the Night Princess unless she wishes it.
Of course Luna is allowed to make fun of Celestia, they are sisters after all. Luna knows she's just joking and that in unrestricted battle conditions Celestia is a force of nature, the Night Ponies assume Celestia is weak and pampered, while Luna knows it's more that she is squeamish and restrains herself. Luna knows just how humiliating Crysalis beating Celestia really was.
