To not “accidentally” bump into Tirek and “let the situation get out of hoof” while he is still weak from imprisonment is a demonstration in the trust I have for Celestia. She has a plan to defeat him and unfortunately it depends on him living to meet his doom.
The spellbook is an easier matter. The wards on it will last another ten thousand years but such ancient items enchanted with such powerful magic have a way of attracting magical creatures. The cave I placed it in has no doubt become an infested dungeon. It will take some time to clear and I cannot distract myself from this war, retrieving the spellbook will simply have to wait.

What is this spellbook you speak of? The suspense of curiosity is killing me.
I love how you've gotten Luna's voice pinned down. It makes the story more engaging and believable when she has a set personality.
I also like how you did bring in (earlier) the fandom/ head canon/ whateveritscalled thing about Luna being a gamer... But unlike most stories that bring in this element, you didn't over do it :) yay!!
I was really sad when you stopped updating every day, but I suppose it makes sense the further the story goes.
All that to say, I think your story deserves an A+ because its awesome, and theres no blatantly obvious grammer mistakes which makes it 20% cooler and awesomer!!
Keep up the awesome work, and I can't wait for the next chapter!!! :D

I think the "Crystal Empire" book you are thinking of is Starswhirl the beardeds diary which contains the unfinished spell which turns Twilight alicorney..

But that book didn't appear to have any wards on it.... It was far to easy for Spike to actually get the book too.... THe wards/stuff that happened with the evil spiky book seemed to me more like something Celestia might do.... But then again, who knows??

My Goddess. They knew Tirek was gone, they knew he was weak and vulnerable, and Celestia actually let him stay free? Worse, Luna went along with it.
Gods, I hate Twilight's Kingdom. I hate it with a passion. It forces reasonably good stories to make really bad turns just to accommodate the glaringly terrible decisions made throughout those episodes.
