Celestia’s force storms the fort I built beneath eaves heavy with snow. A simple heat spell convinces them to release their burden. Celestia and her remaining guard are buried beneath the small avalanche. She is difficult to find in the snow but I am there when she uncovers her head nevertheless. Before she can concede defeat I take my victory by striking her with a snowball.
Her guard laughs as they uncover themselves and smiles as they congratulate the night guard on their victory. My guard is well trained and does not break discipline while on the battlefield. As Celestia’s guard offers jovial surrender mine only watch stoically.
Victory is mine and yet I still feel as if somehow I have lost.

You forgot the part where you have fun Luna. That is the whole point of the exercise.

Well this is pre-Luna Eclipsed the poor thing has yet to take the stick out of her plot and learn to relax and be personable with her subjects. Same goes with the Night Guard I'd think, despite their victory over the Solar Guard I'll bet they feel strangely unsatisfied. It wasn't meant to be a purely tactical exercise but a way to unwind and have fun, even soldiers need to have fun.
Since this is before Eclipse, I feel that Luna thinks Celestia still views her as the enemy
2993694 We still love her anyhow.
Snowball fights are serious business.
Awww!
I really think that the Batponies need to get the collective stick out; they should take Luna's example as a lead for their own reactions, I think.
Yeah, I definitely want this fight set to art.
Most of these comments seem to say Luna forgot to have fun. That is clearly not the case. It's her night guard who are the ones making the victory less than entertaining. She's gonna have to do something about that warrior culture of theirs.
