Reunion - Chapter 28

They are dark, violent things my night ponies. But that is what Equestria needed them to be. Earth ponies would give growth, Pegasi would give water, and unicorns would give light and together they would make a nation. But it was a nation beset on all sides by feral wilds that would encroach on its borders and swallow it up were it not for the gift of the night ponies: death.

I wish that the creatures of night were not all so tragically violent but that is how it was. I commanded some level of obedience from each of the monsters that attacked at night but as the nation grew I alone was not enough. In the night my ponies would deal death to every threat while I guarded dreams. In the day Celestia and her guard would bask in praise for our actions.
