We have just finished disposing of the bodies from Baltimare. The unicorns are skittish in battle. They are so afraid of killing they are little more than a liability in combat. Those spells have their uses, as well as their little ploy to draw the changelings out but I would still rather a pony who won’t hesitate to slit a throat when the need arises.
On a personal note it seems my daughter’s taste in stallions will see to it that I become used to these sun lovers. I’m happy for her, I really am. I just wish she didn’t make swallowing my pride part of being a supportive father.
The Princess has ordered another raid tonight, one of the smaller settlements outlying the large city. I am relieved that it will not be such a large infestation. These changelings are learning. The infestation in Baltimare actually managed to put up a fight and we have a few wounded.
Nothing serious, thank the Moon. Yet for the first time this extermination begins to feel like a war. Princess end this quickly.

And there we have the problem - both factions sure that their way of doing things is right and very reluctant to learn. I think that Luna and Celestia's first post-war task will be to find a happy medium between the two extremes.

Well it is true, no one really wins in war, even when it's necessary it's a ugly bloody affair filly with tragic circumstances. War isn't heroic, or glorious it's a hideous beast that consumes lives and destroys everything. I've nothing against soldiers, if anything I respect them more for putting them selves though hell so others won't have to.
