Who knew the world had pirates rummaging around? While enjoying a day at the beach, The Rainbooms are greeted by a pirate ship full of quirky pirates who are seeking treasure and mystery. Hyped for another adventure, Lightning asks to join them on their quest in hopes to find and discover legendary treasures and islands, as well as learn the meaning of being a pirate. However, the rest of the Rainbooms are convinced that something is terribly wrong with the captain and they would like to find out what.

It seems to have their names inscribed on it. So, after activating it with their magic and going through the archway, they find themselves transported to a FOURTH world, and caught up in a battle to save the Great Forest of Caisar from the wicked witch, Hexia- who has stolen all the power of Merrdom and the Islastone- a magical stone that is essential to keep the forest alive. Prince Dalton, the girls and the forest must face Hexia and her army of Cropers and Harats, to restore the world to its rightful place.

When Canterlot High goes on a field trip to Camp Everfree, their settlement is none but short as they discover a mysterious magical force that causes strange things to happen around the camp. Twilight Sparkle believes it's Midnight Sparkle inside of her that is the one causing all these problems, as she is having constant nightmares of her overtaking her again, but Sunset, Lightning and Karly do their best to support her and convince her it's not going to happen again. They try to keep their wits up and enjoy their time at the camp. However, soon enough, the nine all begin developing superhuman abilities within the camp's boundaries. Twilight thinks it’s her, infecting them, and that Midnight is coming. She has to assert control of Midnight and save the camp with her friends from a new beast, Gaea Everfree.

The time has come as the CHS girls prepare for an academic and sporting competition, held every four years, called The Friendship Games. It’s against their rival school, Crystal Prep. They always win at the games, so Lightning joins the Mane 6’s team to be by their side and compete in the series of events in hopes to finally win this time. However, as they are introduced to their opposing rivals, aka, The Shadowbolts, they meet an interesting yet familiar person in the mix, this world's Twilight Sparkle. Lightning and Karly are amazed to see this, and as they are helping Sunset Shimmer with her task of solving the mystery of her friends' random magical transformations, Lightning digs in on the Twilight from CPA, and wonders if she knows anything about them. Only the Friendship Games can answer.

Because of their bond growing stronger, the Mane 7 form a band called the Rainbooms to help improve their friendship and compete in the upcoming CHS Musical Showcase. They even go out of their way to invite their new friend, former bully and student of Princess Celestia from Equestria, Sunset Shimmer. And even though her efforts to gain everyone's trust is still sour, Lightning and Karly give her support. However, when a trio of new students called the Dazzlings arrive, their strange antics and reveal of magic causes the showcase to become a Battle of the Bands with everybody literally at each other’s throats. Only the Rainbooms are unaffected by these circumstances, so they call for their friend from Equestria, and Twilight Sparkle makes a return to Canterlot High School in order to compete in the Battle of the Bands alongside Lightning, Karly, Sunset and the others, to save their school.

An E.Q.U.E.S.T.R.I.A Spies story

In an alternate dimension: What if Lightning met the Rainbooms during the time Princess Twilight came to the school? Lightning Star is a new student at CHS, after having to transfer again on account of someone finding out her secret as a spy in her old school. Karly Crystal, who is one of the only people who still knows this secret, transfers along with her, to be by her side. They are nervous upon entering and starting a new chapter in their lives, but before they can commence, a strange girl and her dog come out of the front statue of the school, which is revealed to be a magic portal. There, they explain that they are both a pony princess and dragon from an alternate world and that they are pursuing a thief that stole her crown. Now, Lightning and Karly must join this stranger on her epic quest around CHS to save her world, meeting many new characters who can also help them.

An E.Q.U.E.S.T.R.I.A Spies story

Taking place after the events of Lightning Star's birthday party, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie get into a massive argument. After having a day to cool off, the two girls attempt to bury the hatchet and forgive each other, but shortly before they can make amends, Pinkie Pie witnesses the abduction of their new Pixel buddy, Jace Donar. Chaos soon ensues when everyone finds out he was abducted by his old gang of mates, who are a band of young girl-hating campers, led by the stingy, unkind, yet traumatic, one of them all, a boy named Fraddie Hill. Pinkie Pie decides to commence a rescue mission in order to save him. Rainbow Dash and the other girls join her on this journey, so the two can specifically work together in order to complete this mission and become friends again.

But, after she is kidnapped by him and forced to attend his party, Karly, The Rainbooms and The Pixels go off to find and save her as well as unveil the true mystery of his intention, and stop it, before he proves her point, and Lightning's birthday curse carries on.

An E.Q.U.E.S.T.R.I.A Spies story

After failing their alliance with Dr. Devil, Adagio Dazzle and the Dazzlings begin plotting some other way to get their revenge on the Rainbooms. Learning everything they could from their previous experiences, and new skill techniques, they believe the only way to now deal with them is with brute force. Meanwhile, the Rainbooms are about to start their training. Lightning Star and Karly Crystal are eager, however, problems begin to rise. Due to them focusing on their jobs instead of school, the girls' attendance has dropped and they have missed so many assignments, preparing them for an upcoming final exam. Their positions as students and Steven's job as their principal is now on the line, so, coming to terms, the girls have to put everything on hold so they can study in order to catch up with what they missed. Unfortunately, that’s the time where the Dazzlings decide to strike once again, and the Rainbooms cannot defend themselves, on account of magic being countered by brawl. Lightning and Karly must come to a conclusion; fail school, or lose their friends. Which will they choose?
