Great, now I feel like a heartless robot since I can't imagine not being happy about living forever... I mean, you get the most possible time to spend with your loved ones, since you won't die before them, and have a long time to get over their loss, I personally don't see a downside. This is clearly supposed to be sad though, or bittersweet, so I'm probably the one with issues in this instance
Honestly hard to think of anything to say beyond that.
I may not know what it is to have such a significant connection to one you love as to split and exchange a piece of your soul with them, but to be forced to loose that special bond....I phathom of nothing more harrowing.
I commend you on this story thus far (though i know its from days long since passed). I stand by my previous statements regarding my respect for this story's tremendous world and character development as well as its simplistic ability to lend itself to pure enjoyment.
As my final two comments, I'd like to address two things. Firstly, how does this immortal marking function? If celestia took anon's soul, I'm assuming she took it in its entirety, by which I mean she would have needed to reclaim all of the pieces the others held. Were their souls then restored as well or was Dash the only other to have their soul split? In the same regard, what of Dash's life expectancy now that it can be assumed she is no longer marked with anon? Secondly, when I read the final sentence of this chapter I felt as if my heart had collapsed as the fear that this was as far as the tale goes set in. I quickly checked the status on the title page to ease my panic and was glad to see there is more meant to be given to us. For that, I thank you. Though this story has been tremendous thus far and it could end here with bitter sweet finality. I look forward to reading further.
So, while reading this I was getting ideas of my own. I'd like to borrow your whole "Marking" system you've got, but I'll likely end up modifying it slightly to fit my needs... I don't know if the project will end up published or not, but if it does I'll certainly provide a "Inspired by:" quote in the description.
I can't feel sad because this came out of nowhere. It feels like you are trying too hard to make some conflict happen...and ended up making a conflict that feels fake.
Anyone who has seen this movie knows that immortality freakin sucks when you can't even enjoy normal things like growing old together with the one you love...
Also many would classify soulless and immortal as undead...
I am crying.......
WELP! At least he gets to live and love his partners, just not to the extent that he was used to. Truely sad.

Stars above that was heartbreaking. I doubt Anon will hate or even be mad at sun momma. It's just not in his nature.
I don't know why Celestia wouldn't at least tell him he'd be immortal. I don't know about the half life expectancy either.
Oh No... I Remember the 'FAKE' Dream... The 'FAKE' Reality she created... I Remember this... all...too...well...
Well.......shit.....
