Do you understand how cheap that stuff would be in Equestria? There seems to be a lot of trees and some grow almost instantly(zap apple trees). Slippers are just tanned animal hide with sewing holding it together. Tobacco could be easily grown in Ponyville, with all the unused land we've seen. The story also takes place years after MLP:FiM. Also, If you pay attention to the story you can see that Anon's character is incredibly selfish so it's not outlandish for him to own some "luxury items" even though the supply would be high enough that a simple wooden pipe and fur slippers could be obtained even on a minimum wage salary.

Would love it if anon was abusing her and Big Mac stepped in...
