This time it was the overalls. Not that there would have been anything otherwise, considering the change. Now to await Twilight's reaction. Also what of the other CMC?

Ohhh so close, Spike. Nice try, but it guess it doesn't help that Twilight is smart, clops herself, and has known you your whole life so I'm sure she knows the sighs of sex play when she sees and smells it, lol.
Hmmm, a little short compared to the others, oh well. You should really go somewhere private to do something like that Apple Bloom, unless you didn't care if you got caught.
Okay, rule of thumb: NEVER and I mean NEVER use internet slang in your fics, it not only looks bad but makes most writers think they are reading an amateur's work.
5686288 Well, you would be technically correct. As I recall, most sources seem to agree the OMG abbreviation was traced back to a letter between Churchill and one of his advisors. The use of it in common vernacular though? That might be a little harder to pin down. Best guess is it didn't really catch on until roughly early to mid 90s due to character limited text and increasing use of chat rooms/forums. If we're basing it on when it gained popular use, then it would likely still be counted as internet/text slang with the rest. So...you could be wrong also?
Either way, still best to leave them out of these settings when you don't have human influence. They don't have a historical reference and no communication system that would encourage it. Even if they did, Twilight's obsession with protocol and details mean she would likely be one of those that flip out at the use of it.
8877357 It might have started gaining popularity before the '90s. In the '80s, even though there was no internet in people's homes, the term could have been used in UseNet or on BBS. However, this is just pure speculation on my part. The few BBS that I've been on did have character limitations that would have forced people to shorten their words, though. (I've never been on UseNet, so I have no idea if there it had any such limitations.)

Busted!
Here is a shovel, Spike.
It's best you dig your own grave.
1964945 I'll think Granny Smith will handle the shotgun part of that, and I can think of where they'll be!
Commence read.

This means only one thing...
RUN. FOR. YOUR. LIFE!
When finds out...
You can imagine the rest that will happen
5486618 It's not internet slang. OMG predates the internet by decades.
5486618 FINALLY!!! At least ONE other pony appreciates that fact!
No pony likes to see abreviated text in other pony's fanfics!
But… what’s that’s smell;
