Taokaka vs Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie stepped out of the portal and took a few moments to check out the leg that she had lost in her battle with Lucy. There was no evidence to suggest that anything had ever happened to it, much less that it had been torn off and regrown completely. She stretched it out and wiggled it a little, testing all the muscles and making sure that they were all working properly. Aside from a slight tingling sensation, everything appeared to be in full working order. Satisfied that her leg was not going to spontaneously fall off, Pinkie Pie took the time to take stock of her surroundings.

This arena resembled part of a large city, with titanic constructs of concrete and glass piercing the blackened evening sky. Crow black clouds drifted aimlessly, blotting out the stars and Pinkie Pie had difficulty ascertaining whether or not they were truly clouds or smoke. All around her, darkened shop windows glared at Pinkie Pie as she tried desperately to remember her song about giggling at the ghosties. Judging by the volume of bars and greasy restaurants, Pinky assumed that she wasn’t in the most glamorous area.

From the roof of one of the smaller buildings, a hooded figure leaped down onto the pavement in front of Pinkie Pie. As the creature stood upright and straightened itself out, Pinkie got herself into a position where she could run away easily. The creature was shorter than Lucy had been, and it wore a light beige hood that obscured its face almost entirely. Two blonde braided pigtails hung loosely from bronze ringlets inlaid into the hood. The arms were very long, much longer than Lucy’s had been, and they were shielded by sleeves that seemed to end in a giant bulbous cats paw at the end of each arm. The creature’s legs were skinny, tanned and almost entirely bare except for the feet which were encased in boots that resembled cat like paws. The hood itself sported two large orange cat ears that had apparently been sewn onto the back of the costume. But what actually scared Pinkie Pie was the monster’s face. The face was almost completely hidden by the hood, but in the darkness two piercing red eyes and a row of glistening sharp teeth glinted at Pinkie Pie, causing her to flinch involuntarily.

“Hi there Pretty Pony, I’m Tao!”

The high pitched voice assaulted Pinkie Pie’s ears in a manner that wasn’t entirely unpleasant. The voice and attitude betrayed the mind of a naive young girl and the more Pinkie Pie stared at her would-be opponent, the less menacing she appeared.

“Got anything to eat?”

Pinkie Pie arched her eyebrows at Tao. She was slightly perturbed at the prospect of this near perfect stranger whom she still didn’t entirely trust asking her for food. She hadn’t even asked Pinkie her name yet and she somehow felt it was appropriate to ask for food? Pinkie Pie, still more confused than usual, shook her head slowly. Tao’s shiny white smile flipped into a depressing frown and her red eyes seemed to alter shape letting an image of total distress overcome the hyperactive young girl. Pinkie Pie couldn’t help but take pity on the girl, so she tentatively trotted over and gently placed a hoof on her back. She glanced around and saw a flickering neon sign that read “pizza.” Pinkie Pie subtly pointed it out and Tao squeeled with absolute delight, picked up the pink pony and bolted for the door.

Inside, Taokaka and Pinkie Pie shared a cheese pizza, joking and laughing through their stories about life back home. Taokaka told Pinkie about the Kaka tribe and someone called the Boobie Lady. Tao listened intently to Pinkie Pie’s tales about life in Equestria with her friends and various events in her life. As the last slice of pizza vanished down Taokaka’s throat, a chill filled the air. The pizza parlour disintegrated, replaced by the cold darkness of Discord’s suspended reality.

Malevolent laughter rang out, reverberating off of non-existent walls. A dull, masculine presence slipped into the dimension, filling both Pinkie and Taokaka’s senses with a feeling of utter chaos. Before them, the twisting dragonesque image of Discord materialised.

“Well hello there ladies, I’m glad to see you both getting on so well. Well,” Discord recanted, “maybe not THAT glad.”

The serpentine chaos god coiled himself around Taokaka’s slender body. He rested his head on her shoulder, making her squirm uncomfortably. He smiled devilishly at Pinkie Pie, licking his singular fang with a glint in his eye alerting her to an evil scheme that he was about to put in motion.

“Let me see if I can’t break up this happy little friendship now. After all, you probably think that miss Pinkie Pie over there is just a nice little pony, correct? but do not be deceived by her appearance. Inside that adorable little form is the heart and mind of a cold blooded killer.”

He extended his taloned arm, opening a screen in front of Taokaka’s face. On it played a clearly doctored video of Pinkie Pie’s duel with Lucy. However, instead of the brutal conflict that had really transpired, with Pinkie Pie desperately fighting for her life, Taokaka was shown Pinkie Pie viciously beating down a defenceless young Lucy before plunging a knife into her back, laughing maniacally.

Pinkie Pie was so shocked by the blatant lies that Discord had implanted in Taokaka’s head that she was momentarily dumbstruck. As the pizza parlour rematerialised around her and she found herself once again sat beside Taokaka, Pinkie Pie tried to open her mouth to speak, but Tao interrupted. She spoke softly, barely above a whisper, but there was real anger and hurt in her voice.

“You’re not a pretty pony.” Taokaka began to physically shake with rage. “You’re a mean, nasty pony. A bad pony.”

Pinkie Pie shook her head furiously and opened her mouth to try and explain herself, but Taokaka didn’t let her. The cat girl placed both of her paws on the table and swung around slamming her feet into Pinkie Pie’s face before her Pinkie Sense had a chance to kick in. Pinkie Pie was launched through the window and into the wall on the opposite side of the street. The rain started to fall all around her as she got to her hooves, bruised from her encounter with the window and dizzy from the kick.

Taokaka was standing by the broken window, a look of absolute fury occupying what features of her face Pinkie Pie could see. From her paws, six long claw like blades extended, glinting in the light of the few street lamps. She stepped forward, forcing Pinkie Pie into a defensive stance.

Pinkie Pie was absolutely terrified by the horrific change in character before her. Taokaka wasn’t happy and playful any more. The little cat girl was a rabid and violent killer. Pinkie’s shoulder spasmed slightly, letting her know that Taokaka was planning to use those claws in an attack. She watched as Tao leapt at her, clearing the distance between them in a single leap. She brought her claws down and Pinkie Pie barely managed to sidestep out of the way. Her shoulder spasmed again as Taokaka sent her left paw sailing towards Pinkie Pie’s face. The pony ducked only to have her Pinkie Sense alert her that Taokaka was about to attack again. The cat girl was incredibly quick and Pinkie Pie was getting scratches all over her body where she managed to just dodge out of the way. As she stepped backwards to avoid Tao’s blades, Pinkie Pies reared up on her hind legs and struck out with her front hooves, thumping an unsuspecting Taokaka hard in the chest.

Not waiting around for the cat girl to recover, Pinkie Pie turned and ran. However, before she had taken more than three steps, her whole body shook violently. Turning around, Pinkie Pie saw Taokaka hurtling towards her, claws extended. She had no time to react, no time to think, before the slender blades in Taokaka’s paws slipped into her flesh. The claws dug into the soft meat under Pinkie Pie’s shoulder, shallow enough to miss any vital organs, but deep enough to make Pinkie bleed heavily. Taokaka stepped forward and lifted her arms, hoisting Pinkie Pie into the air. She retracted her blades to launch Pinkie Pie skyward, flipped upside down and fired a two footed kick straight up in the air to keep Pinkie Pie airborne.

Pinkie Pie squealed with pain as her body contorted in the air. She opened her eyes long enough to see Taokaka below her. But the cat girl no longer had claws sticking out of her paws. Instead, they had been replaced by tall saws, humming as they whirred around. Pinkie Pie was certain that if she hit them it would be the end of her. Forcing the pain to the back of her mind, she managed to rotate herself so that her hind quarters were aiming towards the spinning blades below. She tried to think back to her time at the lake with Rainbow Dash, just before the unfortunate incident with the mirror pool. She focused and tried to recreate that moment in her mind, attempting to recreate the trick she pulled there. As she focused, she felt herself slow down immensely. Opening her eyes, Pinkie Pie saw that she was drifting gently back to the ground. She allowed herself a little smile as she came level with Taokaka’s head. The cat looked up at Pinkie, totally bewildered.

“How did you-?”

Before Tao could finish, Pinkie Pie lashed out with her hind legs, smashing both of her hooves into Taokaka’s face. Performing an elegant rotation in mid air, Pinkie Pie touched down on the solid ground gently, stumbling slightly as she shifted her weight off of her wounded leg. She watched as Taokaka soared through the air before crashing to the ground in a crumpled heap with a horrible thud.

Pinkie Pie had realised that running away was useless now, Taokaka was much faster than she was and the only reason that she hadn’t been ripped apart yet was because of her Pinkie Sense giving her a chance to respond to Tao’s attacks before they came. Pinkie opened her enchanted purse and pulled out her party cannon as Taokaka got to her feet.

The pink mare readied herself for the next attack and the rain began to pour far more heavily. The noise of water hitting the hard concrete ground was almost deafening, but Pinkie Pie barely noticed it. Taokaka stood upright, wobbling only very slightly as she reached her paw up. She slipped it into her cloak, right below her face before whipping it out again, hurling a bowling ball at Pinkie Pie in the process. Pinkie managed to hop over the bowling ball, only to be hit in the chest by two abnormally heavy pillows and a rotting apple core. Taokaka seemed to just materialise in the air above Pinkie and drove her claws deep into Pinkie’s abdomen. Pinkie Pie coughed up a mouthful of blood as Tao lifted her off the ground, span her around and slammed her back down again onto the concrete. The pony stretched out one of her hooves and pulled the cord on her Party Cannon. The force of the air being driven out of the barrel of the cannon was enough to push it backwards a few feet, right into Taokaka who was knocked face first onto the ground.

Pinkie Pie struggled to her hooves, grabbed her Cannon and began to shuffle towards the broken window of the pizza parlour where Taokaka’s bowling ball had landed. She was bleeding a lot and she knew that she wasn’t going to be able to last much longer in the state she was in, so this fight would have to come to a close very soon.

When she was about half way, she heard something. She turned around and saw Taokaka floating in mid air, a little river of blood running down her leg and dripping onto the ground below. Her claws were pointed directly at Pinkie Pie and there was a very noticeable change in pressure as Tao powered up her finishing attack.

“You’re already dead!”

Taokaka flew right at Pinkie Pie, her claws fully extended and thirsty for more of the pony’s blood. Fighting through her agony, Pinkie Pie shifted the position of her Party Cannon slightly. She tilted it up just as Taokaka reached her and the cat girl flew straight into the gaping barrel. Pinkie turned the Cannon skyward and pulled the cord, sending Taokaka hurtling back to where she had started. Nodding slightly, Pinkie forced her Cannon the rest of the way.

Satisfied that her next attack would be effective, Pinkie Pie loaded the bowling ball into the Party Cannon. Pinkie decided to try and get as much of the shattered glass as she could into the Cannon to act as shrapnel, just so her attack would be more powerful, slicing her hooves horribly as she did so.

But as she turned around, Pinkie Pie howled in absolute, unadulterated agony. A heavily wounded Taokaka was leaning across the barrel of the Party Cannon, her claws fully outstretched. The blades on her right paw were now firmly embedded in Pinkie Pie’s face, piercing her left eye. The pain was absolutely excruciating as Taokaka slowly dragged her claws down Pinkie Pie’s face, slicing through the soft flesh and splattering mangled pieces of skin, muscle and eye tissue all over the ground.

With a bellow of pure rage, Pinkie Pie pulled the cord on her Party Cannon, firing her lethal cocktail of broken glass and bowling ball into Taokaka’s body at point blank range. The ball smashed into her chest, breaking several of her ribs and sending the cat girl backwards through the air. But it was the glass that proved to be more lethal. Shards of shattered glass peppered Taokaka’s face, opening hundreds of tiny wounds and unleashing several tiny bloody eruptions. As she hit the ground, a larger piece of glass whizzed past her neck. Pinkie Pie watched in horror as Taokaka’s throat opened up in a wide red smile, blood spurting out of her neck violently. She frantically clutched at her neck with her paws, trying to stop the bleeding as her entire body spasmed with shock. After ten agonising seconds, her body went limp and the guttural sound of her choking ceased. She slumped forward and her eyes vanished under her hood.

Pinkie Pie clutched at the place where her eye used to be and screamed in agony and sadness. She was tired. Tired of killing people, tired of having to fight for her life, tired of being forced to end the lives of nice people like Taokaka. She had liked Taokaka very much, but this sick and twisted game had forced her to murder someone who could easily have been a close friend. But perhaps what terrified her more than anything was the fact that she had almost enjoyed it. Despite all of the pain, despite the fear of having her life ended, the rush of adrenaline she had felt as she watched Taokaka die and as she drove the knife into Lucy’s back had been exhilarating. She hated everything that she had been forced to do so far, but there was a part of her (growing stronger and stronger) that was enjoying the fighting. Gathering what energy she had left, Pinkie Pie packed her Cannon back into her purse and trotted over to the fallen warrior of the Kaka clan and muttered a soft apology through her tears. Limping, Pinkie Pie fell into the Portal that had opened up behind her and prepared herself for the next kill.
