nice work.
Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
It was great to see Tempest again and to see that she still switches from English to Spanish when talking, especially to Sunset. Also, it’s very interesting that the Legion is still portrayed by three instead of four people, could it be the CMC or is the fourth one just hiding & waiting for the right time to strike?
Great is the weapon that cuts on it's own.
I am curious to see how much Red heart knows about the situation
"or even the Shanker… Shankers, actually, I suppose"
Is this just a reference to Legion, or am I missing something? I'm not sure what else it would be, but I'm also not sure why that different name would be used here, or why they are folded in with the serial killers, still (though that, possibly, because they're Killers?).
I continue to enjoy this story. :)

Sorry, the more I edit the more occasional bits and pieces of old drafts sometimes slip through the cracks. Yeah, it's Legion. I fixed it.
I don'tkke that you just said that at the bottom.
It fills me with dread.

good

Ah, thanks!
And aye, looks like the known Killers are indeed being separated out from the serial killers who are merely suspected Killers. Understandable.
Though I do wonder what our protagonists' reaction will be when/if they find out that, as I suspect, they're in a three front conflict, at least. Because the revelation in this chapter that the Entity was merely wounded, not killed, and is guessed to be still active in the area has made me basically certain that Rainbow is indeed one of its, while the CMC look to be working for I've-been-guessing-and-still-am-Twilight Sparkle (no idea at the moment who or what the Ogre of the East might be). And... well, to begin with, with Sunset hiding, I'm not sure how long it'll be before Rainbow finds out about her. Looking at outside knowledge, specifically your preference for eventual happy endings, I'd guess that Rainbow will eventually come around. But I'm not quite certain, still, I'd be much less confident in that without outside knowledge, and there's the question of how much happens in the meantime. Because I think when Rainbow, who seemed to have embraced the Entity (and has been left in this world, without, apparently, any special requirements to hook victims or the like; that seems like it might be significant and marking her as intended for a special purpose) finds out Sunset escaped, is also active here... has rejected the Entity... kept hiding from all her old friends... well, given the ways in which Rainbow herself has moved on, that seems like it could be messy.
...Though, hm. It does occur to me now: are Rainbow, and any other agents of the Entity and our protagonists actually in opposition here? Would the Entity actually prefer its followers be neutral or aligned with Sunset and company? After all, the latter escaped, sure, I doubt the Entity likes that, but presumed-Sci-Twi is a much more active threat and enemy.
edit:
Though I can also imagine there ending up being a race-to-Berlin/Operation Paperclip style sequence late in the conflict, since the Entity, I assume, would not want Sunset's faction having access to whatever presumed-Sci-Twi used to hurt it. Possibly, to continue the analogy, extending diverging into the start of WWIII right there. Or that being commanded, at least; that seems like it might be the point where Rainbow is finally forced to sort out the presumed mess inside her by that point and pick a side.
...I mean, or I could be completely off in these speculations. But I'm quite interested to see where the plot goes either way. :D

From that block of speculation, I see you’ve cottoned in to the fact that I’m not futzing around with that Mystery tag.
I kinda dig how the new breed of killers - perhaps owing to the fact that the newbie controlling entity (no pun intended) ain't some primordial elder god - don't have the exotic powers of the old killers created by the capital E Entity.
...then I remembered the first batch of killers included such unknowable powers like "Has a chainsaw" or "Wears a Shatner mask." while DBD's later released killers includes a onryo or a tulpa.
Ah well. Still running with the theory that the new killers are all/most former survivors still tainted by the Entity's touch despite being rescued.

Oh, hah, I hadn't actually noticed that tag, that I recall! :D
But, yes, not too surprised it's there. :)

Ah yes, the dark and wicked mysticism of:
Man with bear traps
Friend with chainsaw
Ma'am with the hatchets
In fairness, there's also: Lad who turns invisible when the doorbell rings and Missus Screams-In-Flight
not sure if i missed it, but who is Aria dating?
10695378
It's Redheart. That's established explicitly in a couple of chapters as part of the narrative, but if you want to know ahead of time then the story 'What I Want' sets up Aria and Redheart's relationship. None of the side-stories are strictly necessary to read, as Dead by Midnight explains everything in due course, but if you want to know more about the expanded canon you're welcome to indulge, lol.

I love Darkest Dungeon. And I am proud to have made it all the way through the journey. The ending is... delicious. :)
This is real good stuff. Keep it up
