Following her restoration in 2022, the battleship USS Texas BB-35 disappeared in the Gulf of Mexico en-route back to Texas. Suddenly, those aboard her find themselves in a new world, and may soon have to fight for their lives
And that's a good point. I feel pretty confident that Big Mac and Applejack working together could easily move those wheels to manually steer the Texas
And sure, maybe he's about to make a horrible mistake, but if said mistake was so easy to solve, then that wouldn't make for a good story, now would it? I can't spoil too much yet, but war is indeed coming, the Texas will indeed be front and center for it, and......I can't say anymore, as I can't spoil anything
And yes, that traitor/spy may get what's coming to her, but that begs the question, is she the only spy the Black Baron has in Equestria, or are there more who haven't been revealed yet? You'll just have to wait and see
11780689 It's possible that she exists, but she won't appear in the story. Maybe in this Universe, she never got her awful idea to steal Cutie Marks, and instead just lives a normal life as the mayor of Our Town.
And that would be interesting. However, I would much rather show the Ponies "Tora! Tora! Tora!", as "Pearl Harbor"'s historical accuracy is absolutely abysmal. I mean come on. In the actual attack scenes, you can clearly see Oliver Hazard Perry-Class Frigates, Arleigh-Burke Destroyers, and AEGIS Cruisers, obviously none of which were there in 1941. And the reason that movie is so damn long is because of that awful love-triangle no one cares about. I saw that movie once, and barely made it through without clawing my eyes out at it
11781004 Those would be interesting. "Hacksaw Ridge" was a hard one for me to watch due to its sheer brutality. I would also recommend the series "Band of Brothers", and "The Pacific"
Oh, so these pirates are about to enter the "fuck around" phase it seems. Gonna be great when the "find out" kicks in. Glad to see this is still going.
Snapshot smirked. "It's something that the Black Baron will be VERY interested to know about. It seems that a new battleship has arrived from another world, one that's far more powerful than any ship in the Equestrian Navy, or our own fleet. Under normal circumstances, this ship would be a major threat, but yet this ship could be quite a valuable asset to us, as it's also horribly undermanned........"
Hey hey hey, stay out of their Texas, ya spy wanker!!
but yet this ship could be quite a valuable asset to us, as it's also horribly undermanned........"
Oh he better not
Wait... i remeber reading something that seemed out of place earlier in this chapter... here it is!
The tour continued to meander throughout the ship, and the Ponies were shown the various armories spread out throughout the ship, containing a mixture of M1 Garand rifles, M1 Carbines, M1911 pistols, Thompson SMG's, Winchester 1898 Trench Guns, Browning BAR's and M1919 Browning Machine Guns (none of us were sure why these latter 3 were here, as they weren't used by the US Navy)
Maybe they are about to find out? Ya know, wink wink, nudge nudge!
Hmm, you may be on to something here. Why would there be more guns that weren't issued by the US Navy in WW2 on the Texas, unless something big was about to happen? I guess you'll just have to wait and see
And this animation of the Bismark being built by the Ponies is really cool. You should definitely go show it to the author of a story called "Battlestations: Equestrian Seas", "Shadow Quill", as their story is about the Bismarck specifically, and I think they'd enjoy seeing it
And I was wondering if anyone was going to ask me about this. I had plans for this, but they won't come to fruition until much later in the story
11781010 Ponies think they know the horrors of war, and then they see what their new friends/allies had to go through during the second world War or given details of what went down in the first one.
And luckily, this is something I can mostly reveal without spoiling anything. She heard it from the other Navy Ponies near the ship, and seemingly confirmed it while she was watching the Texas from the shadows, which was enough for her to say it in her report, but the fact won't be confirmed for her until the next Chapter, though I won't reveal how it was confirmed just yet
Another fantastic chapter, I can remember using the New York class in world of warships and while she wasn’t the fastest or most maneuverable ship, if you got her in the right position a full 14 inch salvo could wreck ships of a higher tier if aimed right, that being said the Texas may not be the youngest or prettiest girl at the ball but she will still turn a few heads and I having a feeling that the black Baron decides to face off against the ship that is the embodiment of the Lone Star State, and has bones made of the finest Pittsburg steel that it will be a hard lesson learned
11781394 It would probably scare their enemy into surrender, God forbid they hear about the attack of the dead men or half of what the Germans and Japanese did.
11781482 Yeah, no kidding. I was planning on David and Luna having some private conversations later on in the story, so perhaps one or more of these conversations could be about WW2
And thank you. And yeah, you're right about that. One of the main reasons I started writing this story was because various other battleships got their own stories, or were featured in one, but the USS Texas never got her own story, and was only shown in one scene of the now-deleted story "Ponies and 16in Guns: Landfall", by "An Iowa-Class Battleship". I decided to finally give the Texas the spotlight, and have her show off her skills while on Equus. And the story isn't called "Texas: A Time to Fight!" for nothing, so there is war coming, but it's all a matter of where, and when. And I think you'll find yourself proven right about that statement in the near future
One of the commissary cooks looked up from the bread dough he was kneading. "Oh yes, this is the Texas's bakery, Miss Pinkie. It's here that all of the bread for the entire crew of the USS Texas is made fresh every day, and where they used to bake cakes, pies, and other such things for special occasions."
I wonder if they had tales of yellow cake...
and Princess Celestia was taking time to write a report for her niece Princess Cadence, and her husband Prince Shining Armor of the Crystal Empire, and inform them of the current state of things involving the Texas, as she wanted to finish it before dinner in the Wardroom all began to climb up,
I have a feeling Celestia's report is about more than just one ship...
This chapter has been a long time coming, I hope the next chapter will be out soon, I have to say I love the relationship between David and Luna that's forming, and how it seems the Texas is going to be able to take to the seas and strike fear in the enemy once again.
And tales of yellow cake? What's that? I've never heard of it
And sorry to burst your bubble, but no. The Texas will be the only warship from Earth to appear in this story (At least in Equestria. I might do one or 2 scenes showing warships back on Earth as part of a later plot-line). I know some other stories have multiple warships, but that's not the case here. I wanted to give the spotlight to the Texas, as she has no other stories on FIMFiction that even mention her, much less feature her
And yeah, it has been. I'm not sure when the next Chapter will be ready, but I'm going to start writing it after Christmas. And I'm glad that you like the relationship between David and Luna. It's going to be a bit of a slow-burn, but it'll be worthwhile when it comes to fruition. And it would seem that you might be right
11782766 Oh yeah, the Charlie Brown incident. It's amazing that not only did the B-17 crew make it home (save for one who died from shrapnel wounds), but he and the German pilot met again years later, and became friends for the rest of their lives
11782060 I don't remember all the details, but there was one story I heard where the cooks in an enlisted kitchen were making cake (Don't remember if it was misplaced ingredients or they didn't have all the necessary ingredients) and had to make due with corn bread mix... then folks eating in the Officers' Galley deciding they wanted cake
The "more than one ship" comment isn't referencing a physical ship (like the Texas or the Rowan) but rather the interactions between the protagonist and Princess Luna (After all, Princess Cadance does hold the title of the Princess of Love)
11782905 I remember hearing about this too. It was the same in the First World War too. There were Allied medics who saved both Allied Soldiers, and Central Powers soldiers too, same with French soldiers who gave water to dying French and German soldiers alike. All cases like this show that even in the darkest of times, the best of Humanity can shine through
Oh he better not
11780637
I agree my good commenter. Don’t touch the precious ship!
Anyways glad to see a new chapter my good author and eagerly awaiting more!
11780637
11780692
That stupid Baron bird-brain will obviously make a huge ass mistake to his pathetic life.
And that pony traitor/spy will soon get hers too.
20 humans to physically turn the ships wheels, but only one Big Mac?
They won’t stand a chance
11780637
Hello Wartank55,
Oh, but what if he does? I guess you'll just have to see where the story goes to find out
11780692
Hello Prince Jules Moonshade,
And I can't spoil anything yet, but things are about to get........interesting
And thank you. I think you're going to like what I have planned for the Texas's role in this story in the coming Chapters
11780745
Hello Booster Spice,
And that's a good point. I feel pretty confident that Big Mac and Applejack working together could easily move those wheels to manually steer the Texas

Hello Dinokid11,

11780897
gotta be bad when you have to nearly dam break the Freaking engines.
All of this history talk aside. Can you imagine what their reaction would be if they were shown the movie Pearl Harbor?
11780981
Oh, it will be
11780995
Hello SOG AVENGER 225,
And that would be interesting. However, I would much rather show the Ponies "Tora! Tora! Tora!", as "Pearl Harbor"'s historical accuracy is absolutely abysmal. I mean come on. Great new chapter you got here Scar, I can't wait to see what you got planned for the Texas and her crew next.
11780999
What about movies or stories like Hacksaw Ridge or Saving Private Ryan?
11781000
Oh, hey Dusk. It's been a while since we last talked. It's nice to see you again
And I'm glad that you like the Chapter, and I think you're really going to like what I have planned for the future
11781004
Those would be interesting.
11780770
What i mean is the Black Baron won’t have a chance to take the Texas It will be madness to attack her in port
11781085
You're right about that. Though that doesn't mean he won't try something else.......
11781014
Hello SgtAwesome97,
And you may be right. You'll have to keep reading to find out
Hey hey hey, stay out of their Texas, ya spy wanker!!
11781121
Hello Kvnhuang1222,
And I love the TF2 Sniper reference
11780637

Okay how did she get close enough to learn the manpower issue?
11781303
Yeah. It blows everything they think they know about war completely out of the water
11781391
Hello MikiStenbeck,
And yeah, despite how completely historically inaccurate this map is compared to the actual USS Texas
11781393
Hello Admiral Q Ponyform,

11782116
I mean not all stories from the war were all bad.
11782766
Oh yeah, the Charlie Brown incident. It's amazing that not only did the B-17 crew make it home (save for one who died from shrapnel wounds), but he and the German pilot met again years later, and became friends for the rest of their lives

Hmm, I've never heard of this story before. I learned something new today
