Even with that rather poor ending to my... guest's little visit, it brought me knowledge worth knowing. To not be restricted this plane would be rather g̸̤͗ĺ̶̟o̷̤̿r̷͈̀i̶͓͗o̵̻͊ṵ̸̓s̶͈̉. Granted I might be capable of doing so without one of these 'Tokens,' but the thought of doing so has never occurred to me.
Let's do this the safe way for now, it will serve me no good if I end up trapped between dimensions.
"What to use, what to use..." I mumbled to myself while going over my raw materials. "Gold is cheap and easy to get but far too useful for making magic items. Iron is not as cheap and slightly harder to get but strong and annoyingly magic resistant. I could use crystal, but getting or making worthy crystal takes too long for my liking. Hmm..."
"I have some platinum, it is rare and valuable but also rather useless in terms of making any magic items as it has property's similar to Iron if slightly less resistant. Hmm, platinum it is."
I lifted the small chunk of Platinum that I had and I did whatever felt natural to make this unique item of power.
As I channeled my magic the small hunk of precious metal did not begin to float till I was outputting far more magic than should have been required to do so. Once it was steadily floating over one hand I brought the other over channel from the top side.
With a rotation of my hands the metal warped and changed, all the while I began what I could only assume to be what my message and summoning phrase would be.
A coin of quarter size
One side smiles, while the other beguiles
A flip to see your fate
Be it doom or a trick of mind
Summon I, N̸̖̕o̸͕̍ẍ̷̡́ , but only when you have something to offer
Or be befouled by ĉ̷̖ů̴͚ŕ̴͎s̶̤͘e̷̻͝d̴͓̍ ̴̘̅l̸̛̫u̸̻̒c̵̻͗k̴͓̅
As the final word left my mouth I felt an uncomfortable and unnatural binding fall over me and the newly formed token. Taking the coin back in hand I looked over both sides of it. On one it had a devious smile, while the other had what I could only assume to be a cake with five candles.
After inspecting it I continued to do as felt natural to do and gave it a flip. As it spun into the air a swirling vortex of green and violet opened and caught it for me. 'Interesting.' I went to bring my hand to my chin in think only to notice a light weight in it. Looking I saw the same coin, only now the light reflecting off of it was tinted violet.
Holy updates.
i just started reading this story and i love it

it's cool, how do you do that?

I put this off for to long for multiple reasons, I would have preferred longer chapters but I have reasons for why they'er not.

Thx for the chapters!
... I kind of want to know if he's capable of making something like the Unmaker/Unmaykr.
In a way, it has curse by default, if you go by the original version (I think that was DooM 64, but can't say for sure), in that it feeds on the unholy energy of its targets, effectively making it only useful on demons and other such denizens of Hell.
If he makes a BFG 9K, You know it has to be cursed to a two-shot limit. As in two shots EVER.
Hey, thanks for the message on my profile. I'm a fan of cursed items in stories/ video games, and this story did not disappoint; I plan to write a story of my own.
As for the previous chapter, with the Lantern rings, I've got a few ideas of what the curses could be:
Green (Willpower): Makes the user stubborn, reinforcing their own beliefs and justifying their actions no matter how wrong and impossible they may be. So they have a stronger will to do something, thus boosting their power, but their actions may not be morally right. (There was a cross-over comic where Batman got the green ring when he witnessed his parents murder, and his will to punish the killer was so strong that it overridden the merciful default setting of the ring (aka can't be used to kill). He was punished for it, because Green Lanterns aren't executioners they're defenders, but despite taking a life, Batman argues to justify his actions, and then really goes off the deep end.) Maybe the ring enslaves the user, draining them of their will to carry out an extreme desire, no matter what the intentions of the user, before leaving them in a brain-dead state. Then the ring goes back to Nox - to be sold to someone with a strong will.
Indigo (Compassion): The power of the indigo rings is vast, but its theme is compassion; sympathetic pity and concern for the suffering and misfortunes of others. So what if the ring made the same thing happen to the user when they see someone suffering. (Example: Seeing a man with a broken leg, the user's leg also breaks, matching the injury to the finest detail. Or if a child has been neglected to be fed, and user feels pity and concern, they too will be starved). So when the user realizes that being compassionate does more harm than good, deciding not to be compassionate to anyone (becoming cold or uncaring) - or killed by their good intentions and personality - the ring goes back to Nox - to be sold to someone with compassion.
Violet (Love): There have been darker uses of this power in various media; they would lock and imprison those they love in crystal. Since the rings can choose those who are worthy of its power, maybe the violet ring can choose someone who has deep affection for someone, then horribly turn that someone into a feral crystal construct. Then after dying to the monster, or forced to kill their lover, the violet ring finds its way back to Nox - to be sold to another love-struck victim.
Blue (Hope): Causes them nightmares that will make them see the things they hope for, and witness it all fall apart in the most gruesome way possible, and is unable to do anything about it. (Example: a mother hopes to be reunited with her lost son, finds him, and witnesses him decay into rotted sludge). Then when the user's spirit is broken, having no hope, the rings goes back to Nox - to be sold to another hopeful victim.
Yellow (Fear): This one is a bit odd, since most people of this Corps are criminals and sadists - they're talented in instilling fear, obviously - but there have been cases where the ring has run out of power, and had to face their own fears to power it. So what if it forces fear, and only fear, into the user? Nothing specific, just the stimulation of fear. That sense of something about to ambush and kill them if the were to walk around the corner, to feel paranoid of everything around them. The ring gets so much energy, that it siphons the user's fear - if they haven't ended their own life by now - and the rate grows so monstrous that it literally leaves the user drained of fear - an empty husk stunned by not feeling afraid for the first time in forever, but is so paralyzed by the sensation that they are left in a coma. Then the rings goes back to Nox - to be sold to another victim filled with fear, or is good in causing it in others.
White (Life): There have been some comics where the white rings does stuff by its own without the intention of the user. So what if it gives life to anything - not resurrection so to speak, but giving an idea, concept, and stuff of imagination, to be real? To be given physical form, autonomy, sentience, and all the capability to do what it was expected to do. (Example: The user has an idea of death: a grim reaper with a hood an scythe. That entity will become real, and will have its own will, conscious, and not be under the control the user of the white ring; to judge and declare that someone's life is up, and reaps them. Or like a spiritualist who thinks that wild animals are controlled by a forest deity that rips the flesh off of bones, and grounds the bones into powder to be used as fertilizer... then comes to life to do that.) Eventually, something will so dangerous will come to life, and inevitably kill the user of the white ring, and will go back to Nox - to be sold to another victim.
Honestly, these are just suggestions to use and discard at will; they're more akin to dramatic irony really. I really like this story, and I hope to read more. My one criticism is not seeing the consequences of the curses of the items. I was expecting the Minotaur's fire resistance to be lowered by the Leviathan Axe so extreme, that she would have been set on fire for touching the flame of a candle, or getting severe burns when being out in the sun for too long. Anyways, thanks for the good story! :)
If my stories weren't in their infant stages, I might do a crossover.

Oh most definitely. But with a name such as the unmaker/unmykr that would be an omen for the wielder, not there enemies.
10166899
What would the point of that be, when it already has a severe limitation in how it is only effective against one kind of enemy? Beings either from Hell or are affected by Hell's influence.
10167104
Exactly, being powerful and being useful are two separate things that can both affect the same thing but have no guarantee to do so.
10167111
Correct.
So now that we're on the same level, could I request a weapon to make an appearance and suggest a curse with it?
And, no, I'm not requesting the Unmaker/Unmaykr or BFG.
10167118
You can, but if you want it to be a surprise for others reading this story I would suggest a pm. But I will say this now, there is no guarantee that I will make a chapter dedicated to it. Or that it will make it into the story at all as it depends on how creative my brain decides to be.
