Oooh, rason as bait. This can end several ways, many not good. why do I sense a happy but also tragic ending to this character ark.
What kind of helicopter is it? Gunship or transport?
And so we see the true might of Equestria: A diplomat resistant to heavy weapons and patient enough to keep yelling "Can we talk this over, please?" until something gets done.
John Rason Who Is Also A Changeling is an incredibly valuable resource, and I'd be surprised if all the people in the know aren't wrestling over what to use him on.
I’m hoping Force is still alive so he has to face the consequences of his actions. Regardless of his intent he’s likely going to watch him and his family dragged though the mud to the point where his calf will have to change its name and distance themselves to have any hope of a normal life. It’s bitter but not unheard of.
As for the Minotaurs they are going to have to make some harsh decisions. The sour choice of paying off war debts and dealing with a shackled military (perhaps more a defense force), ailing economy, as well as the foreseeable influx of American goods eroding their culture. Or leaving the bulls a people without a country will likely be harsh choice for anyone. They try to continue the war, they risk losing what little they have left, they make peace they risk losing everything though a tsunami of cultural change.
Hope Chrysalis, despite her turn around shop front action earlier, doesnt have a return to standard and keeps a spare TIC TAC with her, that she loses it on meeting Celestia face to face.
Rocks Fall.
Now I'm intrigued about the fish people, who acted to protect their Sequestrian neighbors. I hope whatever sanctions or reperations are leveled on the STDI nations don't fall too heavily on them.
Can't wait to see how this plays out with Rason.
Poor Hoku. As bad as the humans got it, they still lost like 1% of their population in all the attacks combined. Sounds like the Lutrai had it far worse.

Foreign goods eroding culture is really a matter of how strong the local culture is. Take Japan or Germany for example, which were in a similar situations after World War 2. Germany even being rebuilt from the ground up. But local cultures are still strong in both nations, insistently so in Japan.

I ditto keroko said. Japan's culture is so strong, coincidentally... here I am eating sushi in sushi bar in Los Angeles.

I think it’s a pretty unique area and the people there really aren’t like you would find in another state. There’s a cool blend of people who have careers involved in the ocean and the woods are right next door. Fun fact Maine is 90% forest, that’s more than any other state, most of it is completely wilderness.
It occurs to me that America doesn't seem to have shared that they have been infiltrated by a changeling with any of their allies yet. While this isn't uncharacteristic of America (the tendency to refuse to admit weakness, even to allies, is hardly a unique trait in this world) it does mean that they've blocked themselves off from other potential avenues of help and information in this regard. Equestria in particular would be motivated to explore just how much Chrysalis had to do with this war the moment they learned of her involvement with America at any level.

At this instant, they have no reason to assume she was involved with that mess at all.
This may change if they get their hands on her and get her singing.

If Changeling!Rason is genuine with his desire to completely defect to America, that may happen very quickly. Every indicator in the story says his loyalty is true to the Red, White, and Blue, so I can imagine Chrissy getting to enjoy the best of America's "enhanced interrogation techniques" in relatively short order. Should this prove successful, there might even be a drive to attempt to recruit some of Thorax's changelings into several government and private sector security firms and organizations with some lucrative deals. I'm sure Thorax and his hive could use the economic and political boosts that could bring.

Well, not at this instant, no. But should they hear that one of Chrysalis's changelings replaced the president of America? The Equestrians and their past experience with changelings and supplanting government leaders is going to make them a tiiiiny bit more suspicious of how uncharacteristically violent the TSDI was acting towards America.
