note, ANYTHING Spartan hoplites used was EXACTLY the same as other Greeks used at the time then "what is the difference?" you may ask, answer: Spartans trained all their life while doing almost nothing else besides it(no farming, no philosophy...) at the same time you average Greek have only 2 years of training then live as a citizen taking part in occasional war and/or field practice
i still have no ide why hes mute he should be abule to talk after anwhile un less thisi the funny thing with out reason that he can't talk. i can under stnd if he want to go incognito and to have to much atenchun to him self
I love the chapter but I have to say that for trying to pretend to be like other humans, he's not trying very hard. What human knows how to tighten armor and remove his own collar within seconds?
Wonder when he will slip even more and accidently reveal to his 'owner' that he can talk. Or if he does it on purpose. I mean he could play the part without raising too many questions.
Achilles: *makes sounds with his voice*
Raindrops: *turns to Achilles* Huh? I could have sworn that you tried to say something. *giggles* But that would be ridiculous, right? Humans can't talk! Everypony knows that!"
Achilles: *points to himself* "A-Ach... Achilles." *points to Raindrops* "R-Rain...drops..."
Raindrops: "D-did you just talk?! B-but...! *faints fron shock*
Something like that. On this way he could act like an extremely intelligent human. Though, do the humans really look so much different? On a sidenote, animals are attracted to dominant 'alpha males', like the saler described him to be. Wonder how many of these female humans he had to fight off already.
Even if he just growled commands like a salt crusted DI. (more unintelligible than Clint Eastwood in 'Heartbreak Ridge') "AH-RAH, HUT!", "Re-SET ARR!", "ORR-ROR ARR!", "AH EEE!" Translation: "Atten-hut!", "Pre-sent Arms!", "Order Arms!", "At Ease!"
Then you have the cadences like "Lo-Right-ah-Lay-O, Ah-Lefty-Right ah-Lay-O, Lo-Right-lay-O, Ah-Lo-Right-ah-Lay-O, Lo-Right-ah-Lay-O, I Love to Double-Time!"
Damn, I'm actually falling for this story. Hope to see what will happen next. Also, my only suggestion is to relax on the time lapses/breaks. I like the nitty gritty details, so keep the story's pace flowing without big gaps please.
Inaccurate about the flowers! For example, dandilions are perfectly edible, the whole plant, with the root especially having medicinal properties. I just saw roasted dandilion root tea on the grocery store shelf, in fact.
Ok my dudes this is where I tap out, Achilles seem quite content with being a slave and or pet he's shown little to no interest in freeing himself hell I'd assume he's got one hell of a case of Stockholm Syndrome because of how quick he rolled over in submitted to the "good" ponies. Even to the point of getting a barnyard animal style brand. He's been shown quite capable of defending himself and freeing himself he just doesn't, he won't even liberate himself via suicide because of some crazy amount of mental gymnastics that says he should live in slavery because of survivor's remorse (How do you even come to that conclusion). Oh on a side note and I've seen this in a lot of fics but if ponies are big enough to stare you in the chest and still kept the same proportions they have in the show they would be an enormous as big rhinos Celestia would be close to size of an elephant and minotaurs would be as tall if not taller than Celestia. Excuse the run-on sentences I'm doing this on my phone
Oh crapbaskests, things escalated quickly there
I’m sure he’ll be fine. I don’t think that “Heel” is a valid hitloc.

Was that one of the autocorrect mistakes?
9226124
Interesting. I thought that Spartans specialized their weapons, therefore making them different. Well, now I know
9226329
More's coming. Don't you worry
9226399
I do like your story though
interesting fact: there is a theory that kukri has Greek origins
they do have some similarities

I sure hope its more of a aiding a friendly ally minotaur faction there, rather than war of conquest or something similar...
Keep it up.
9226396
Nope. Shorthand for “hit location” from a bygone era: The 90s.
I love the chapter but I have to say that for trying to pretend to be like other humans, he's not trying very hard. What human knows how to tighten armor and remove his own collar within seconds?
9226614
It called slipping up. You know the mistakes you make naturally without thinking about it.
9226478
I wouldn't be surprised if the Minotaurs are actually attacking the ponies because of their use of humans.
Like the story, it's interesting.
Wonder when he will slip even more and accidently reveal to his 'owner' that he can talk. Or if he does it on purpose. I mean he could play the part without raising too many questions.

9226939
Yeah, that would be nice too. For human rights!
You've earned yourself a favorite; my friend. Well done. Can't wait for more.

Achilles to a minotaur: Getting kicked into a well is the least of your worries.
This story is great as well as the pacing, but here's a question. . . what's the estimate on when the next chapter will be posted
9227943
be patient he's typing on a phone so give him time
9229425
sorry,
i'm usually the patient type but I just liked that much
in truth i'll gladly years for the next chapter
9229425
Maybe we should get the writer a laptop or something?
9230583
probably

Then you're going to be pissed about the backstory in the next chapter
Inaccurate about the flowers! For example, dandilions are perfectly edible, the whole plant, with the root especially having medicinal properties. I just saw roasted dandilion root tea on the grocery store shelf, in fact.
Also, humans can synthesize plenty of proteins from what we get from plants, but there are some that almost exclusively come from MEAT.
9283236
Remember though, the humans here are different.

It's hard to believe that no one noticed he's intelligent yet.
