It occurs Sunset can easily just cast an illusion to prevent herself from being recognized by reporters, though I imagine film might see through it, which would cause a new set of (debatably worse) problems.
Honestly before this two parter I was ready to write off Sunset as acting no better than the Rainbooms by the simple fact that she was being just as angry, fearful, and vindictive as they were. Granted she had better reasons, but the way she went about the reveal was not the best way. What with the whole school most likely being terrified of her now, she'll probably still be ostracized. this time out of fear instead of anger. But I feel those scenes with Rainbow telling Sunny she didn't have to explain herself and seeing the effect she had on Scootaloo was just the shock she needed to understand that their feelings are genuine. And also Sunny needs to have a talk with Princess Celestia about her death threat. If you want my honest opinion on that, I think she would be appalled that Celestia, the pony who forgave Discord for what he did, would even consider death.
You haven't earned my favorite yet, but I'll continue to track this.
9063107 It did occur to me to have Sunset do that, but there's the problem with her friends not being able to recognize her and if she lets up the illusion for even a second, then a nearby paparazzi could discover her secret.
9063217 Fair but she is already doing a perception based illusion that is seemingly based on a subjective and abstract part of whoever sees her. She could theoretically just do similar to alter the perception of anyone who wouldn’t recognize her in the first place. It’s either that or she managed to cast permanent mind affecting magic on every person inside a school all in one go.
9063157 At this point Sunset stopped caring about what the other students think of her, they were quick to lay the blame on her and the ones who sent in secrets probably knew it wasn't her and still joined in blaming and hating her. Sunset will be aware of what her mother did when she notices strange marks on Rainbow Dash throat and she explains how she got them.
9063228 The problem with casting a spell of that magnitude on the whole school is that she still runs the risk of getting caught and by the next chapter her situation is about to get a lot worse.
9063241 Fair enough. Though it does also occur she could solve her problem by dying her hair and wearing different outfits for a week or so. Looking forward to the ever-worsening complications.
9063238 True, but still anyway she goes about it the Rainbooms, CMC, Gilda's group, Principal Celestia will probably be the only ones who go to the school that will talk to her.
As for Sunset learning about the marks, I hope she gets mad not just at Celestia but at Luna too (though I am a bit forgiving of her because she recognized Rainbow's nightmares) for just letting her get away with assauit. And for all other's reading this, It doesn't matter what Rainbow did, Celestia committed assault on a minor and the cops either would thinks she's crazy, or if they discover her magic, the government would experiment on her.
"Do you think what the paper says about Sunset is true? could she really be the Wonderbolts daughter?"
Scootaloo was broken from her thought at the mention of the Wonderbolts..
"Maybe, I mean why else would she be hugging them." a female student responded to her friend.
"Well she does look similar to Spitfire." A male student spoke. "Despite her looking like a demon in real life, the photo clearly shows a non demon Sunset smiling as she's hugging them."
Have they all lost half their brains? Do they not remember that Sunset isn't exactly from there? Honestly after the whole Anon-A-Miss bit you'd think they would've learned not to buy into hype
“Oh no.” Soarin mutters as he reads aloud the headline. “’Wonderbolts star athletes are seen with a young woman in her teens who bears a striking resemblance to Wonderbolts captain, Spitfire! Story on page 5’”
Thank goodness paparazzi are idiots. I thought Spitfire is a teenager.
dam u, I almost puked rainbows of happiness all over my laptop. god job.
Sometimes I wish i could like stories multiple times.
