“Well? Aren’t you going to invite me in?” “Do go in,” I said in a huff. “Are all in Canterlot as formal as you?”
Somehow, somewhy, I laughed so hard right there. That author's note, too.
On that note, I find this story and then, later in the day, my friends sends me this song. I'm not sure how fitting it is, since, well, I didn't read the thing this was inspired by, and neither did I read all that there is right now, but I think it's a pretty decent fit
Gothic RariTwi. How have I not seen Gothic RariTwi until now?
Beautiful work. It really does read like something right out of Stoker, but with all the wit and character work I would expect from Rarity and Twilight. Truly an inspirational work, and I look forward to reading the rest of this.
Of note, I absolutely love the careful phrasing Twilight is continually using.
“Nineteen summers,” she said when she was done. “That’s how many I’ve seen in the light of day. And you, my lady?”
Finally reading through this fic... love will have its sacrifices, eh?
I became acquainted with the Carmilla novella via the very different webseries, like many, but I did go back and read it. Fascinating so far! I love the worldbuilding.
That bit in the author's notes...
7913549 I know right. Im just laying here trying not to burst onto laughter.
C'mon man I find this when I'm supposed to be working?
Also yes welcome to the writers trap known as "getting snizz on the reg"

It was like reading some 19th century author and then right at the end "Man, all this sweet poon is fucking with me."
The notes were nearly as much fun to read as the story itself but indeed; the story does stand on it's own merits. :)
7914137 Yeah, I'm totally not reading this at work either. Nope, not at all.

Ecch, I hate to have left this for so long but this week has been swamped. But I get to experience it now all the same.
Wonderfully immersive descriptions, as with those night shadows.
Vampires? Seems too simple....
7924195 Worse'n vampires mate. Lesbians.
The bit with the invite to the room made me laugh. Rarity is more than a bit overawed isn't she, poor dear.
How does Twilight enjoy doughnuts if she can't eat? Jelly doughnuts only?
I can't help but wonder if Bartleby is actually her uncle at all.
Quite ironic, a vampire as student of the Chosen of the Sun. Just how long ago WAS it since she left Celestia?
I have to imagine that, when Rarity first heard her steps, it was when she decided to let herself be heard.

Loved this line.
