When two humans land on a planet with their shell-person companion at the helm, they think they are prepared for anything. Ponies was not among their definition of "anything," however.
Talk about a secure location. Space time is so messed up round there I wonder if any civilisations have used such a location for secure research stations etc.
I am not sure but I do believe that magnetars give off some light that might be seen from the planet maybe as a larger star than is normal. I like this story so far and cannot wait for more. Thumbs way up!!!
It's good Luna was so composed, lesser mortals would have passed out from the amazement. What in space is that sun made of to do that? No wonder Kiera can't sense it, nothing's ever been developed to do so! To Twilight: do you think it would be safe to walk on the surface of the source of all magic? Keep going! ;)
8228300 A magnetar is a type of neutron star, so the star is literally made up of super-dense matter, and could almost be considered a giant, superheavy atom.
8228383 reminds me of a science article about so-called "strange matter" composed entirely of "strange" Quarks. no protons, neutrons or electrons, just quarks! it would be as heavy and dense as a neutron star.

An... an orbit around the planet? Including the side of the planet unshielded by the output of the magnetar? The magic there wild, beyond compare?
This will end well.

I dunno, personally I'd prefer not to pass unshielded so near to Magnus's eye.
