Hmm... being what's basically a mix between a work-dog and really large macaw would actually be a step up from monster with shot-on-sight priority.
Can't imagine Cindy or even William liking it, but playing along could be a good step in both establishing a report and having the 'simple' ponies feel more useful and loved. Not to mention feeding the humans.
Should make next chapter rather interesting, if nothing else.
haha
About the water supply, they could always boil it.
There's also the pegasai that can make it rain over both large and small areas. Lay out some tubs/barrels till they're full and boom, drinking water.
Now you're thinking with ponies.
6084886 This assumes plentiful rain.

And that a relatively tiny 50 K cross-section of a metropolis actually know how to treat water like that in a survival situation. Given how some of those city-wide black-outs in New York (just for example) went, it's not impossible a lot of people have had a really rude awakening about water not magically springing from beyond your sink.
That, and there might be good reason for avoiding larger bodies of water. We haven't seen them, but with all the other crazy mutations some type of aquatic pony variant isn't exactly that unlikely.

You don't need to boil rainwater. (If the container is clean)
Stream, well, lake... yes.
The appropriate answer is just "Yes."
Ponies are really affectionate. Even the smartest ones want to be loved, petted, comforted. I think the only one we haven't seen like that is Liz, and I'm pretty sure she gets a lot of attention from her drones.
The only one who hasn't had their heads scratched is Windy. That's a scene waiting to happen. Pity Luna didn't want to show affection, but normal ponies are normal after all. Plus I bet she gets hit on by contacting any of the other void ponies. Heck, Cindy does it and she is the 'good' one.
Though it says a lot that your Silver-verse Luna is very normal by comparison to these void ponies.
I can only assume from Luna's commentary that every human has been converted in another void Princess' territory. A worrying development.

Normally, yes, but with flying infectors all around would you take that risk?
Not certain how much 'fluid' is needed to taint water, but I'd be willing to bet it's less then needed to outright taste that same contamination.
I never like it when Luna equates darkness with undesirable outcomes, but that's a matter of personal taste.
In any case, we appear to be approaching coexistence. At least, for this settlement. Still, the first one is always the hardest... though the current state of communication means that every settlement will, at least for a time, be "the first one." That being said, I have a fairly good feeling about this.
I wonder if Luna can bring several people in the same dream.
Also
Literally retarded people, so I guess they can treat them as such, or maybe as kids?

inb4 the infection can be spread through the dream world, and Cindy inadvertently infects Luna and dooms Equestria just like Earth.
It's not going to happen I'm sure, but it's hilarious to imagine.
Speaking of which, will we see some more flashbacks to the Equestrian side soon? We got a glimpse of the failed experiment, but it'd be interesting to see Twilight's current efforts to fix their mistake.

Not that much time has passed, and the smart void ponies are quite efficient at spreading the infection, when they are for it. Already implied a portion of a continent, of not entire countries, have been converted by at least one other Princess.
You know, I've said it before but Cindy is really deferring to William, very friendly and helpful. Yet she must still feel the 'add on' to William. I think Will should let Cindy be in charge of the body once in awhile, take the opportunity to practice his magic or mental abilities while she is in charge for a day.
Y'know if this was still being written and thus open to suggestion, I would propose answering with, "I'm sure someone asked that same question when explorers returned from Africa. The answer is obviously 'people', as centuries of war and struggle have already shown."
6510696 Not a bad comeback, that.
6510733 Feral people, a few reminders that popped in my head that would be similar mental state maybe Tarzan, Nell (played by Jodie Foster) and the lost kids from Mad Max 3 - Beyond Thunderdome. Possibly still slightly more advanced than these ponies bit close.
