As. Hard. As. I. Could.
The force was so great that only did it send him flying
I think you mean 'that not only'. You forgot the 'not' there.;) And now, back to this epic reading.
Amazing chapter. Saw a few minor mistakes, like a missing word, or a word missing a 'd' at the end due to the context of the sentence, but overall, really, really well done.:D Though, that's to be expected from you, eh?^_^
Gotta say that watching Gilgamesh kick wholesale ass was incredibly awesome and it was really cathartic watching Gilgamesh obliterate Infernus. Hope to see mor of it and your Megas story.
... Wow. So that's how angry he gets if you hurt some one he cares about personally. Note to self, if wind up fighting Gilgamesh, quit while ahead. Not that that would really help Infernus any more, after all, he is just a head now. Then again, I think he was holding back, for the sake of the mountain. After all, he practically leveled most of the city on his own.
For the most part but at the moment he's also in the middle of a coherent rage. So absolutely pissed off, he's calm and collected and will tear his body apart tearing yours apart and sending you to hell
Really good as usual, but I was a bit disappointed that Gilgamesh pulled a Goku on Infernus, he comes off as too savvy to fall for the “mass murder gets mercy” trope.

Still, I did really like the “I'm not a hero, I'm a warrior” line though, super bad-ass!
Also, I was really hoping he would do a Zantetsuken on the army when he got pissed and Infernus ordered them to attack. One swing, and an entire army just splits in two as Celestia just sits and watches, realizing how much he held back in their “fights”.
God damn that was heavy restricted brutality. You sir have made a very strong character in most sense of the word(no duh). I expected the main bad guy to pull a freiza if he was ever spared.
Missing 'r' here.
How can Incredible be described?
6337932 I agree with this statement, and I honestly am tired of seeing someone like Celestia okay this. No telling how many of her subjects he killed and the damage he could do if left alive. Mercy is fine and dandy but there is a very clear line where it becomes asinine. Gilgamesh, to me, seems competent enough to know that line.
Still, it was a fun chapter; well-done otherwise.
6337909 Clever you are, hrrrrm.
This is a great story and please for my sanity don't just stop writing it.
6337962 6337932
True, but it IS Celestia's kingdom.
Gilgamesh only stopped because she, the legitimate authority of the region, beseeched him to, not the "this is not you" speech.
Its good that he was not so far gone as to ignore that fact, also good that she knew it would only work once.
And Gilgamesh knew Infernus would go for the cheapshot. All evil overlords do.
Had Luna been dead, he wouldn't have even paused.
Remember when you asked why this story got a green check instead of a black bolt? I was waiting for this chapter. Now it deserves a 9/10+ rating.
AWESOME!!! I can't help but feel like this is tribute to the new Dragon Ball Z movie as it seem's similar to Goku's and Freeza's final battle but goku saved him with compassion instead of being begged by someone else like Celestia did. I really enjoyed the battle scene and the feel scene of Luna being beaten and the fury of Gilgamesh was EPIC!!! I really enjoy also that you are writing a breather chapter that would really go well after a major arc showdown like this. Not only that this will be the first of Gilgamesh where he actually fights with pure strength instead of his usual play antics. The last joke where he boop's Chrysalis nose was really cute and funny I can actually imagine that happening. Awesome chapter and I can't wait for the next one to come out.
That's what happens, you morons, when you challenge a force much greater than you~
Hopefully nothing bad is going on IRL for you; busy can be good, after all.
Also: this chapter is amazing, but as everyone else said, there were some typos and errors.
But man. This isn't a fight, this is a curb stomp. It was not as exciting as I had hoped, but that's what happens, I suppose.
Still, it was cool seeing that when he's serious, Gilgamesh doesn't sell a thing.
awesome. I wonder if Luna will explain why gilgamesh went berserk I bet celestia would like to know
Infernus did a Frieza, you shouldn't have did that.
Ever heard the phrase "live to fight another day" if you are a villan and you are defeated by the hero, then he spares your life. Make the hero regret his decision or you can do like other DBZ villans do and join the hero's team.
6338595 Some villains just can't handle being beaten.
6338777
Idd, for some villans belive their Pride is worth more than their lives, their perfect win record broken, their power they belived couldn't be beat surpassed.
The mere thought of being surpassed unbearble and the victor has the gall to show you mercy, to leave you alive in disgrace, the hero is pitying you, seeing you as pathetic.
Then the hero walks away, his back is turned now is your chance, he thinks you can't hurt him but he is wrong.
Anger makes us stupid and who could be angrier than a villan who have had his whole world shattered by this lowly hero and so they die trying in vain to do what they have tried to do the entire battle, dying or in Frieza's case almost dying only to die again.
Right, it might be my half asleep, drugged up and blue thoughts, but did Gilgi just go for 3? And if he did, which game is that from? I am drawing a blank. I know he has his gun toting for from XIII-2 and he was clearly not using guns here.
Really thinking that Gigly expected that to happened, especially since he threw a Curaga of all things on the guy, instead of a Cure just to let him limp away. At this point, he's an Equestrian Superman. Nothing really there can withstand him, so it'll be interesting to see what he has to say come next chapter.
Seems like things are going to quiet down for a little bit. Of course, that's putting it lightly given the situation.
Damn man... that was certainly epic
So brutal. So Epic. SOOOOO...BLOODY FUCKING BRILIANT!!!!!!

Dang...
*sounds of birds chirping in the background*
Wow...
6337830 6337954 Thanks, I'll get on it.
6337932 6337962 6338076 Gilgamesh stopped because Celestia reminded him that he was going against his own code and she wanted to try and keep him from crossing the line that he himself had drawn. Gilgamesh has killed spaient beings before but both times fit his criteria.
He killed Twintania because if he didn't he would get killed (he was weaker then). He killed Melusine because she wa irredeemably evil, possessing Twilight and attacking her friends, and had to be put down. He was going to kill Infernus because he was angry. Sure you could argue that Infernus was also irredeemably evil, which he was, but that wasn't the reason Gilgamesh was going to kill him.
This is supposed to be Gilgamesh at his lowest, ethically. He's going against is own moral code and is to enraged to stop himself.
6338524 Nah, nothing bad, just a lot going on. And yeah, sorry you were a bit disappointed, but this basically Gilgamesh when he decides there's no more games. I'll say this right now, there are only two native people on Equus that could possibly stand up to Gilgamesh, especially at full power. One is Discord, and the other... well that's for later.
6338097 Sweet. Thank you very much!
6339099 "Go for 3?" I'm not sure what you mean, but he did take his second transformation, if that's what you're asking. Also, just so we're clear, these are Gilgamesh's forms:
Base: His original form, and how he appears in most crossovers.
1st transformation: His form after he transforms in FFV
2nd transformation: His form after he transforms in FFXIV
3rd transformation: His form in FFXIII-2
6339260 For all his genre saviness and intelligence, Gilgamesh is an idealist and a bit naive. Also, he's a little too overcome with rage to think rationally.
6352509 I meant "form" That is what I get for typing that on my phone and not proofreading it. and thanks for clearing that up, I mainly just wanted to make sure I pictured the scenes right in my head.
Personally, I wouldn't use a naginata. If I had a personal blade, it would be a mechanical mellee weapon. I would use a Chinese tai chi sword to be duel-wielded with the scabbard. Reverse the sword handle into the scabbard to form a zombato. Make the scabbard telescopic, and extend it to form a yari. Or wield the scabbard as a staff and duel wield with sword. Kinda like a Bloodbourn weapon that SHOULD EXIST!!! Of course the scabbard would need to be made of a dense metal to support itself with so many engineered components...
6353573 yeah… But Gilgamesh uses what the original Gilgamesh used. So he uses a naginata
6352509 I wouldn't say disappointed, per say.
I just underestimated the power gap between the first and second transformations a bit. And how much good ol' Gilgy had been holding back. Was still a really cool chapter, though.
6354168 Yeah, Gilgy is going to be rediculously powerful throughout this whole story. However, as strong as he is, he can't be everywhere, which is what one of the main sources of conflict will be.
6354294 Honestly, I've always had nothing but praise for the way you handle actually challenging Gilgamesh.
The battles have all been over the top, and they're usually both exciting, imaginative, and... explosive is really the best term there.
But those aren't the actual conflicts of the story, and that fact is something that keeps me coming back, even more than the usual feel good beat-em-ups.
6354409 good to know. I'll keep trying my best.
What. The. Hell. did I just see Celestia do and Gilgamesh almost do?
Did I really just see Gilgamesh consider letting a murderer go, and worse, on the field of battle?
I can accept the Princesses being so twisted that they would equate all killing to murder, that no killing could ever be done for good or for justice, but not someone who is a genuine warrior like Gilgamesh. He cannot possibly be so craven as to run from this truth, can he?
6355437 It will be addressed in the next chapter.
6355681
*grumbles* ... very well, I am willing to withhold judgement as I've been told by a reliable source my sense of justice is not as complete as I might suspect at my current stage in development, but I will still remain vigilant to hear if Gilgamesh's reasoning has progressed enough to understand that just because someone who doesn't respect life isn't in eyesight doesn't mean they will stop murdering the innocent, like the children of the changelings for example.
6353661 Oh definitely! Its essential to his character. And he uses it spectacularly. I'm only stating a personal preference for a desired compound melee weapon, were I in a magical wonderland under siege by the legions of hell and the entire multi verse. I've used most of those weapons before (yari, zonbato, etc.) and I have my own tai-chi sword. Just wish I could combine them...
Loving this story in its entirety by the way. Every time I read, I can't stop myself from getting completely immersed. This story earns the title EPIC!
Whenever I read a story with a villain with fire powers I wish I was a better writer. Then maybe I could introduce them to Drake( yah lousy name for a dragon, I suck at naming) Heat energy absorption coupled with an energy powered regeneration. Would be such a one sided fight. Oh wait that's what you got anyway,DUH. Wonder how shinigamisparda got so good at writing.
Just got all caught up.
Still an interesting read, as always.
And goddamn. When Gilgamesh gets angry, best to just cut all your losses and run.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
When is next chapter?
6444642 With luck, in a few days. Sorry, have a lot of things going on right now.
God damn! Gilgamesh really don't fuck around if you hurt Luna, and I don't blame him. Hell, Infernus would've been so much worse off were he facing someone like me. Gilgy made it fairly quick, I'd have drawn it out for weeks, months, even. Still. Damn, he was holding a whole hell of a lot back. Still, hopefully, when the deed was done, Gilgamesh did it for the right reason.
Also, Infernus, the fuck?!? I'm not even that prideful, and my personality is the literal incarnation of our original minds pride!
Note to self: don't piss off Gilgamesh.
Good chapters can't wait for more
I loved the story so far. Can't wait for more.
Gilgamesh is OP. And I also believe that's an understatement. We've just seen his full power, we didn't see his full skill. When he combines his years of experience with his full power. The only ones who could possibly contend with him are probably Goku or Superman. I'm just guessing though, the author could probably say whether I'm right or not though.
