This could be improved a lot by simply explaining the aurora vision stuff and getting the blindness better. When you are blind, your eyes look different, so you could have ponies ask what was wrong with his eyes, instead of not knowing anything or having a clue at all. Other than the confusion around the being blind parts, this was very good.
This is very good. Remember the eyes! Blind ponies eyes look different. I think you should hav rarity comment on them or something.
